General Question Re: SANFL

Postby JK » Thu Dec 06, 2007 3:42 pm

Was just wanting to get a bit of a feel among you guys still involved in club footy, toward your interest in the SANFL ... Mainly:

1. Do you have a reasonable - strong interest in the SANFL?

2. Do you attend many SANFL games per year?

3. Would you attend more SANFL games if it didn't clash with your own footy committments?

If you've got 2 spare sec's, would be interested in your response .. Cheers!

Live down the road from Prospect Oval and would definately go to some games but they always seem to clash. $2 concession for an arvo's entertainmet is gold.

I still have a good interest in the SANFL, but obviously with my own club commitments, it is very hard to attend many games.
I do attend Friday night games every now and then, but probably only get to 1-2 per year.
My commitments with my club do take up alot of time(2-3 nights per week and all day Saturday), so any weekends/time i do have off is usually spent with the wife and kids.
Im also a AFC season ticket holder, so they are my number one priority as far as supporting and attendance.
Its even getting hard to get to all their games though, i will probably only see 5-6 Crows games next year.
Saturday afternoon AFL fixtures at AAMI are sh!te

1 - I love it

2 - Go to as many games as possible

3 - I play footy mainly on saturday arvo's which makes things rather tough, if i'm in the two's i can usually duck down though depending on where they play

yes - but as a norwood supporter it has been difficult the last few years (the pain of hope is sometimes too much to bear)
5 approx - depends on the when the games are programmed - haven't seen a saturday afternoon game for years due to Blacks commitments

Still have a reasonable interest in the SANFL, can't get to as many games as I would like (couple a year).

Do you think the SANFL's profile would be helped if they still played before the crows and power games? It would expose some really good talent to thousands of footy fans who probably wouldn't get to see alot of league games. I know the SANFL players would go for it... just a thought.

I think it's a good question mate and could very possibly have benefit, but the downside is that it would slate and perhaps jeopardise the core base of SANFL fans, the majority of whom wouldn't be too impressed with it I don't think.

1. I don't mind the comp, but I haven't really barracked for a team for about 3-4 years so the interest sorta dropped off.

2. Went to two this year, ANZAC Day and the GF because I had nothing else to do.

3. Considering I don't really support any team in particular, probably not. If the SANFL played all their games on Sundays I'd still spend my day being lazy and watching my club's Under 18 game.

Those answers may seem negative toward the SANFL, they're not however. I appreciate the competition for what it is, and am glad it is there and hope that is prospers for a long time, however my club's interests will always take precedence over any SANFL game/event/anything.

1. Very strong interest.
2. I have averaged four games a year over the past decade. I go whenever I'm in town. What's helped me is that Centrals have played in finals for virtually the whole decade I've been living in the country, which means my season's over and there's a few games I can go see. Also last season there was a game in Berri which helped.
3. I'd go see more if I lived in the city. Also, if I stopped playing footy I might head back to the city more often, which would mean seeing more games.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

1. Strong interest. Even if the bloods have let me down the last few years!!

2. About 2-3 if the bloods get a friday night game or sunday arvo due to footy committments

3. Yeah for sure. I reckon there should be amateur games before the games on a friday or saturday night. Would boost crowds for sure
