Junior Grand Finals

by Bluedemon » Tue Sep 14, 2010 10:56 am

Most of the juniors would have played their grand finals on the weekend or coming up soon so post the results once they have been played.

Metro South had their Grand finals over the weekend, results were:

Under 11's
PHOS Camden 4.5 (29)
Goodwood Saints 0.3 (3)

Under 12's
PHOS Camden 6.4 (40)
Plympton 2.0 (12)

Under 13's
Unley 16.14 (110)
Goodwood Saints 3.3 (21)

Under 14's
Unley 11.6 (72)
Plympton 10.10 (70)

Under 15's
Edwardstown 9.12 (66)
Goodwood Saints 10.5 (65)

Under 16.5's
Unley 9.9 (63)
Edwardstown 9.6 (60)

It was a good day on the weekend with Unley Jets going home with 3 flags, PHOS Camden getting 2 and Edwardstown 1. The last 3 games were some rippers with all teams behind at one stage and getting up to win. Biggest margin for a comeback was in the 16.5's when Unley were down by 28 points and some grit and fight got the result in the right way.

Edwardstown Football club hosted the day on sunday and did a good job while Kenilworth had the 11's and 12's Grand Final and big crowd came out to support the players.

Get along to Hahndorf this week

Under 17.5 Grand Final

Blackwood vs Hahndorf

Should be a ripping game as Blackwood were undefeated until they met Hahndorf in the Courier Cup, where Hahndorf got over the line by a goal or two in a thriller.

They have played three times this year, most recently in the Qualifying final where Blackwood won by about 8 goals in the wet, which left doubters eating there words. Despite this result Hahndorf smashed Bridgewater on the weekend by 15 goals!!

Blackwood having the week off look set to take it out, but don't be fooled Hahndorf get four Sturt players back in to the side, who did not play in the preliminary final. Its a guaranteed thriller.

Blackwood by 4 points

think it was U12R where a TTG player took a mark about 10-15m out and slotted it in after the siren to win the game

Not sure this was intended as 'gloating" more so a compliment to a terrific effort from the junior club who are/have worked their butts off to get & keep things on track, so 'reward for effort' I say.

The one bloke I was was really pleased for is John Wegener from Geppys.
This bloke does near the lot, from opening up to running water for the 18's. Hardest working volunteer I've seen, deserves every kudo that comes his way.

Also, the Gepps Under 13 Girls team went down in the Grand final by a goal and the Gepps Under 15 boys also made the finals.

Fantastic work by J Wegener, and all the coaches!
