Wow… I completely forgot to post this on here, so I’m sorry if it’s too late notice for anyone.

On Monday night we begin an 8 week U12 Girls Footy Competition at Alberton Oval.

Games are played at 6pm & 7pm... Cost is only $30 for the whole 8 weeks.

Girls can register as a team, or by themselves to be put in a team. It depends on numbers at to whether we play 9-a-side or 12-a-side

We would love to see lots of girls born in 1999, 2000 or 2001 running around Port’s main deck.

For more information please contact me on here, or email me at emmag@sanfl.com.au so I can email you a flier/ rego form

Well Marbles :D the 'deal' (lol) is...

Who are the teams?
Central District (Elizabeth FC)
Eagles (Edwardstown FC)
Greenacres
Modbury
Morphettville Park
Port Adelaide (Portland FC)

& maybe this year;
Pooraka
Ingle Farm

When do they play? day & time
Generally on Sunday afternoons, eg 1pm & 3pm. Sometimes we play on Friday nights if it's a long weekend.

How many games
Last season we had 15 Rounds

Where are games played??
The games are played at each club. Last year it rotated around the grounds with all games at the one ground on that day. This year we are hoping to play a proper 'home and away' season.

We also have a facebook page with more info... http://www.facebook.com/sawfl

Ohhhh, also EVERYONE check out and 'LIKE' my new page... http://www.facebook.com/cdwfc

Ah far out thanks kicks.like.a.girl, in back of my mind and as well as a lot of others at our club, it be nice to hav a girls team at our club.

But our sundays are full to the brim with about 8 junior sides that would clash yeah?

But the would be the same at some of the existing teams now yeah?

Is the comp actually affiliated to the saafl mens league or they run by a complete diff org?

Having a girls team is not only nice for morale around the place... it also brings in more money with more people hanging around the club :-bd

Modbury currently has a bajillion juniors games on Sundays, so they play their womens home games on Saturday nights after the A grade. It worked really well this year.

The comp isn't affliated with the SAAFL. It is called the South Australian Women's Football League. We are a part of the Community Footy department at the SANFL just like everyone else :D ... Girl Power, lol

If you have the numbers then there isnt really much stopping you from having any teams.

U18's is probably the best way to start as it is a new comp starting next year. At the moment it will only be 12-a-side, which means you wont need to recruit as heavily.

If any clubs are seriously contemplating entering a team for 2012 (whether it be juniors, U18s, or Womens); please feel free to contact me at work so i can help you get the team started... emmag@sanfl.com.au :d

"The Henley Sharkettes"

The girls would look good in the navy blue

Maybe a team in the league is looking to relocate?

Sorry Marbles, no teams looking to relocate... however, nothing is stopping Henley from starting their own team :D

On that note, for any teams in the MSJFL; Peter Cates (SANFL Inclusive Programs Manager) and I will be at the MSJFL AGM tonight. If any clubs are interested in finding out more about the Under 18 competition (and the BENEFITS for your club) we would love to have a chat with you.

The Under 18 comp is starting next year, and ALL clubs are welcome to enter a team. The competition is starting off as a 12-a-side comp to make it easier for clubs to recruit; however if clubs can get enough numbers we will play 18-a-side when possible. The more teams the merrier, so have a think about what girls footy could do for your club :d

Attention ALL footy clubs in Adelaide...
Would you like an easy way to;
- Increase playing numbers at your club?
- Increase number of people attending your club on a weekly basis?
- Increase MONEY being spent at your club?

Well then i have the answer for you :D

ALL footy clubs are more than welcome to enter an U18 GIRLS TEAM

The competition is starting for the first time EVER in March 2012. It will be a 12-a-side competition to make life easier for those clubs that need to recruit players.
Get your Under 18 boys teams to get their girlfirends to play... there's your team right there, haha.

If your club would like an easy way to bring new people to your club please feel free to contact me so i can help you make this happen.

Great Night at MFC on Saturday, a heap of the girls came back up into the club and had a drink and something to eat! The Womens side has really embedded themselves in the club and the atmosphere including a deal that 3-4 girls will assist the C and D grade each week if the 3-4 blokes help the Womens side.
