Back in the good old days that peanut would have got sorted out pretty quickly. The first time he went for a contested possession he would have got hammered...fairly, of course, by as many blokes that could effect the tackle.
As a 17 yr old, playing in one of my first a grade games, i was king hit by a very experienced, association half back behind play very early in the game. Luckily he hit like a girl and didnt flush me but it was enough to drop me. I took no further part in the game, but really enjoyed watching my team mates crash into him at every contested ball he went for...tackled, dumped, bumped and belted for the rest of the game. All pretty fair stuff (maybe a couple of sneaky ones got thrown in close) no one reported! He came off looking like he'd been in a war. From then on every time he played against us, he knew not to do that sort of gutless crap again.
Eventually this peanut will play again, hopefully against the same team, and they give him the same treatment my opponent got.
I guess the moral of the story is that every dog has his day.
