Does anyone have any information or contacts regarding Player Bank?

Player Bank used to deal in the recruitment of footballers, players would sign up and clubs would be sought for them etc.

If you have a contact person or are aware of the concept please PM me.

cheers

No Mole, nothing to do with Encounter and while I'm here Cowmuncher I think that having an ad on a site calling for interested players is better than poaching them via the backdoor don't you...??

I just want to know about the system they used is all and why it went to shit?

Oh righto then, they must've changed it.
I just remember vaguely there used to be these ads in the paper during pre-season advertising for players but the thing was called 'Player bank' but Im sure you guys are talking about the same thing here, probably the updated version
The general gist of it is players get registered with it, the clubs also sign on and recruit players from it.
Im wandering if it was a sustainable business idea 8)

It certainly could be. Everyone could be a winner. Players get their names out and about. Clubs get easy access to players' details and the site operator can make a buck by charging a small fee for registration

You won't get many recruits poaching them via the backdoor, unless they want to play for Port Magpies

Sounds like a good idea!! Normally if you switch clubs or competitions its via word of mouth. But say you were a Full Back playing Div 1-3 and wanted to play country footy but didn't have any contacts, it would be good for clubs to be able to target their recruiting. Also good for new players that might be moving interstate or from the country.

Might also be good for players that think they are worth more than they are, put them back in their place!!!
