Jimmy with your attack on labour feds before the federal election and your strong support of Tony and mates DO you feel they will have any influence state wise?

Labor hold 11 of the 14 seats classified as marginal, and the libs need to win 6 of those 11 to form government.

no idea whether the current polling is enough for this margin to be overcome. currently there is a two percent swing towards labor in the polls, which, if applied uniformly across the marginal electorates, would imply that libs would win 4 seats from labor, and labor will hold government.

as we all know, thats not exactly how it works, but it will come down to a few marginal seats i would think.

in the upper house the libs and family first hold 9 of 22 seats, its probably more likely that they win a couple and either the greens or the xenophon group members will hold the balance of power

Probably, but I dont think Weatherill's blaming them for all his, and our, woes is gaining traction.
Certainly not around the Labor people I've spoken to on the hustings
I think many people acknowledge that Holden and Toyota were going anyway and they dont understand Qantas
Most people (including the Labor Party) think time is up for Labor and do want a change
Weatherill is just doing what Rudd did and is giving it his best but its just not working because everyone in this state is hurting
But the line he's going to stand up to Abbott is only going to work with rusted on Labor people

i love lines like this - even though we are behind most other states in australia, in world terms the australian (and SA) economy is the envy of the world.

it was a major failing of the labor party at the federal election to let the libs get away with emotive crap such as "fiscal emergency" when there is no such thing

similarly now, as you correctly point out, holden leaving isnt really anything to do with the governments both state and federal, on both sides. it is just a sign of the times, and happened despite significant support.

our economy is still in good shape

Finally got some election crap in the letterbox.

Local member is having a series of "street corner meetings" across the Ramsay electorate.

Only problem is, this street corner doesn't exist...

A novel way to get out of doing street corners!

Dear Zoe,

I look forward to the opportunity to discuss topics like law and order, health, education and training and anything else that is important to me.

Now where the f@%k is that street corner meeting?
