Gillard should go!

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

Paul Howes and Bob Brown told her not to curtsey obviously. Anyway I don't think she should go. She should stay on and take Green Labor to the next election and lets see what happens.

The big question is why are our tax dollars being used to pay for two inbred pommie pensioners to visit here under the guise of a "royal visit"?

I support her on the NBN, on Climate Change action, on almost every policy and think she just gets criticised no matter what she does, while Mr Abbott talks crap and gets away with little or no scrutiny.

But now she's done her dash with me!

She didn't ....ing curtsy to the Queen of England

The lowest point in her life according to June Dally-Watkins in the lead story on the ABC website, titled "Off with her head", FFS.

I'm with you, June, it's a disgrace. She's got to go.

agreed she has to go, but if she doesnt want to curtsy a queen of another country then its her choice. I would never curtsy a queen from another country, what has this queen ever done for me?? She visits us once in 1,000 years and expects us to treat her like the president.

But on the topic....yes julia is and should be outstead asap.

What we need is a more acceptable model for a Republic..
Both major parties backed away when they couldn't get the one that wouldn't limit their power at all up.

Not sure, but the money would only be wasted somewhere else, like arts.

Let's face it, she got it wrong with the curtsey.

This is what she should have done

She is a joke and an embarrassment to Australia ... To hear her talk to the queen the other day over a cup a tea was one of the most uncomfortable , cringeworthy things I have seen.

Like a bush pig bogan woman talking to a academic ...... Awful stuff!!!

Btw ... Until we become a republic ... She should have bowed!!!

This not only gets televised in Australia but the whole world and makes her look like a disrespectful woman.

At 23 percent approval rating .... I think most Australians think the same ;)

You should have posted that in the "Danger - out of control" thread, along with all the other bogan language and threats.

She behaved appropriately and well.

Very apt, Q.

No wonder southee is a Tony Abbott fan, despite most Australians thinking he's hopeless (Tony, that is, not my esteemed colleague southee ;)

Have you ever seen a real "bush pig bogan"? I have spent time working in the suburbs close to Arndale shopping centre and driven around the surrounding areas. I think Julia Gillard has a slight head start on the typical BPB!

I know you are taking the pi$$ slightly but you don't need completely OTT analogies to make your point.

How "academic" is the Queen necessarially anyway BTW? Do you mean "well mannered"? I have never heard her discuss theories on splitting the atom. Not that I am suggesting she couldn't but your use of anologies here is interesting. You sound intimidated by her Royal Highness!
