She's shit in her own nest in WA though. She made some preference deals with Barnett who looks like he'll be driven out of town in this weekends elections and she's sided with him. She's also pushed hard personally instead of letting her local faces do the talking, some Queenslander telling the WA folks what to do isn't going down well.

Will be watching One Nations numbers in WA this weekend.

And the WA people speak loud and clear. Barnett out, Hanson no impact.

Interesting result - seemed to me that politics in this country was marching toward the right, but then this happens. (Though you can definitely argue that Labor party has shifted substantially right in recent years too)

I heard the biggest swing in WA was the moderate Liberals to Labor. While we're going right it seems it's not as far right as we might have all suspected. Good!

The map is now largely dominated by Red. A sign that Labor will win federally.

Ps - frydenberg, just can't stand him, dunno what it is.

Honestly how rooted is Australia when you look at the state of our current government and then look at the alternative in the Shorten led opposition.

I would disagree with Shorten , Plibersek , Wong and Albenese these guys are miles ahead of your Turnbull , Dudd Dutton or flip flop and flip again Corman.

Yep, a change to the law that won't pass the senate. Very brave.

As you suggest, this is a tactic to preserve his Faustian pact with the right wing nutters of his party. Not sure where 18C fits into the 'jobs and growth' mantra they can't stop parroting, though.

Politics is like a religion - it is a matter of the faith you believe in for many - those of your Church can do no wrong and the others can do no right.
However, there are those who step outside the box and will support ideas and principles regardless of whom they come from and vote accordingly.

18C?? - I've always been concerned about the terms being totally subjective and about how someone feels about what is said rather than about the intent of the speaker...
