Lambie might quit the party......this is great viewing.

Going to be good fun watching this. Sad also that his group controls the balance of power.

If this isn't enough evidence to change to optional preferential voting then faark knows what is.

Federal Election - 7th September 2013 (WA Senate subsequently declared void)

Xenophon: 1.74 SA senate seat quotas but only 1 seat
Family First: 0.26 SA senate seat quotas for 1 seat
Greens: 0.49 SA senate seat quotas for 1 seat
Motoring Enthusiasts: 0.03 Vic senate seat quotas for 1 seat

Palmer United: 0.35 WA senate seat quotas for 0 seat
Australian Sports: 0.016 WA senate seat quotas for 1 seat

WA Senate re-run - 5th April 2014

Palmer United: 0.86 WA senate seat quotas for 1 seat
Australian Sports: 0.022 WA senate seat quotas for 0 seat
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Yes Pauline is back and One Nation is back apparently.

All we need is Lambie joining Pauline and the train wreck will be in over drive.

is pauline that dumb though? lambie has been rejected by the labs*, the libs* and seemingly soon to be booted by the pups, what makes anyone think that another change of party will bring any change in behaviour?

*the above is based on my memory of reading somewhere that lambie has previously tried to get elected with both of the major parties and may be wrong, my memory is terrible ;)

Palmer United Party Leader Clive Palmer has described the suspension of Senator Jacqui Lambie as the result of a "sad situation".

Mr Palmer announced she had been suspended from party room meetings and from for her leadership role for failing to attend previous meetings.

Speaking on Fairfax radio, Mr Palmer said he hoped the Tasmanian senator would stay with the party and the suspension would remain in place "until she can get her life back together".

He said he didn't want to sack Ms Lambie or make her life "anymore difficult than it already is".

"She has been suspended from attending parliamentary meetings until she can get her life back together and she can comply with normal procedures," he said.

"She knows in her heart that she believes everything we stand for which is why she hasn't resigned.

"When people are going through difficult things in the workplace you should stand by them."

It comes after a public spat with Mr Palmer, who accused her of being a "drama queen".

In a statement released this morning, Mr Palmer said the party voted to remove her from her party positions.

"Jacqui Lambie has failed to attend the last three parliamentary party meetings," the statement read.

"As a consequence, the party has removed her from her position as deputy leader and deputy whip and suspended her rights to attend future party meetings.

"This will be enforced until such time she gives an undertaking to cease personal attacks on party members and to follow major decisions of the party room."

Ms Lambie joined crossbenchers to announce plans to vote down financial advice reforms but refused to be drawn into speculation she would leave the party.

"The first couple of weeks of being up in the Senate was very difficult, we're all trying to find our way, well I've found my way now and you know what? Sometimes when you make a wrong you have to make a right," she told the media pack.
