Well given the way the ALP are courting big business and will rip the current IR laws only to re-introduce similar legislation to appease big business, one can understand a blue collar union officals election apathy

Just like '93 all over again - No GST - but we'll increase the wholesale sales tax to 27.5 % (May 93 budget) and make the workers pay more for their kids toys, electrical goods, sporting gear.....

Probably will vote for Family First, unless the Dignity for the Disabled party field a candidate in which case they will be a strong candidate for my vote.

Nick Xenephon has proven to me many times by his campaigns in parliment, the value of having minor parties and independants as your representation over the major parties, yet you still have to preference one of them I suppose!

Point of order: A "donkey vote" is not informal.

Nor is it necessarily a vote for the libs, PhilG.

Gee Phil you let yourself down with comments like that, it sort of dilutes your political awareness credibility when you make those sort of comments especially when in a previous threads you've made inferences about the intellegence of people who vote for the coalition parties.

I resepct your opinions, even though i don't always necessarily agree with them, but when you know as well as I that order of candidates on a ballot paper is done by random ballot therby ensuring no candidate or party can benefit from a donkey vote, it make it harder to take you political comments seriously.

PhilG wrote:Sojourner, I don't understand this one. Good for you re Dignity for the Disabled, but without them - and I speak as a disabled person - Family First is bad for the disabled. So I wouldn't be considering them. They're no better than Fred Nile's bunch of religious cranks. And yet you'll vote for them??

Disabled families would be in a real dilemma then!

Seriously though Im undecided at this stage, traditionally been a Liberal voter but being a public servant would be better off under a Labor government. Need Rudd to show me what he plans before deciding either way but doubt I could vote for Little Johnny again.

As always, a choice between the fiscally questionable and the socially abhorrent.
