Do we need a politics forum?

Postby Pseudo » Fri Mar 09, 2007 11:10 am

There seems to be a lot of political debate (insofar as uninformed opinion and chest-beating can pass for debate) in here as of late. Is it worth starting up a seperate politics board? Those with a radical conscience can expose it to all who care over there, leaving this board free to discuss more important things like smoking and ringtones.

Just put something in place so if the words "politics", "Liberal" or "Labour" are used in a post it gets automatically deleted.

Dont like it mate dont open, read or contribute to it. Just coz u dont like what your reading. Think ur feeling the pressure of not having a decent argument. Theres plenty of topics in the GD area that i dont even bother opening coz i just dont care about the topic. Stop being a whinger and move along to another topic.

Ease up Lizzy, I don't think he's whingeing.
Just asking if maybe there should be another option - as there are on other forums.
Sometimes one topic outgrows a certain space and a new area's required.

Nope. Rather, if there is enough critical mass for a politics discussion forum, then start one, since political shite appears to be dominating the General board ATM.

That I choose to present this opinion in terms which convey my contempt for political discussion is simply my own style. Interpret this as "whingeing" if you choose. But to dismiss my original post as nothing but a whinge is to miss the point.

As much as my earlier comment was meant to be tongue in cheek (should have used the  for lizbeff) I tend to agree with you Punky. Politics have f#@ked up sport too many times in the past.

Spot on Punky!
We ALL heard the boos Li'l Johnny copped during the A-League Grand Final!
Plus how about his pissweak display of poor sportsmanship when the Poms knocked off
the Wallabies @ Telstra Stadium to win the last Rugby World Cup?
Being the host nation, Howard would've been spewing having an ample opportunity to milk it
for all it's worth only to gain political points... Snatched away by flyhalf Johnny Wilkinson's boot!
...Mate, I'm starting to dry-reach just remembering that slimy little toad representing
OUR beloved country begrudgingly handing out winners medallions on the podium! :vom:

Shove him in a corporate box & lock the door (from the outside) I say!!! :finga:
GO THE GROWL!!!

I think SA Footy probably would be better off without a Politics forum. It is already beginning to create bigger divisions than footy rivalry does.
