Yeah I was there also and the performance of the South Aussies was outstanding. To come out of the first match defeat and play in the final was excellent. However, the Vic's were far more professional in their approach and apparently had plenty of training time together compared to the other States. They were also coached by Peter Knights.
Future championships should be played with time on as the flat 17 minute half's disadvantaged teams at times especially when players had to climb fences to grab the footy. Apparently umpires are not allowed climb fences.
Kevin Sheedy was involved with presentations after the final and well done to all players who received awards etc.
In all a great championships and well worth the visit. Although, bloody cold in the mornings in Canberra.
