Smithfield has pulled out of Div 5 and 5R in SAAFL. they may not have a team at all.
Joss is a very good player, very quick.
Chris is a very promising young ruckman, played with him and has talent.
Dont know much about ben russel, but have heard good things, is ashame smithfield has lost these players along with the rst over the last 4 years.
Is that a direct result of the improvement from neighbours Eastern Park (into Div 1) and Elizabeth (into Div 4). Have players moved to these clubs?
I think you find it is because of two ex-coaches have taken a lot players to Angle Vale & Central United in the past couple of years. Even last year Smithfield had a very good "A" grade but just didn't have the numbers for the "b" grade and since the decision of only having 1 team in C1 this year in the SAAFL a lot of the "A' grade players have left like the players mentioned above. Just hope they can get back to having 2 teams in the future.

United must be seething at the loss of the McClean cousins. Probably won't miss Michael but they would've had big hopes on Chris. My mail is that Michael left due to work comittments making it hard to travel for training so asked for clearance to Williston and then Chris just followed cos he didn't want to play without him. Losing players in March would be really pissing Opitz off i imagine as its hard to get quality replacements this close to season start. I'm tipping that the Mclean boys aren't too popular at United MC?

I'd say it would have more to do with his DQ of his license for drink driving

I guess you can't lose what you never had. ;)

My understanding is that Michael was up front and told the club his intentions. As for the other 2, well they trained on the Wednesday night with us, then signed clearances at Willaston on the Thursday. Said nothing to the club about their intentions which is probably the most disappointing part and certainly reflects badly on their characters.

We will move on and they will all miss out on a premiership in 2011 at United Football Club! :D

read in todays paper:1961 MARCH 7TH South Australian league football umpires will have their eyes tested before the 1961 season. This was decided by the sanfl at its annuel meeting last night, following an offer from a city optometrist to carry out a visual screening of umpires free of charge, north adelaide delegate Mr L.J.Thompson said "after this test we will know that there are no defects in the eyesight of any of our central, goal,or boundry umpires".The secretary or the sanfl Mr T.S.HILL said that for years VFL goal umpires had had there eyes tested.

funny actile should bring this rule back for the apfl

I honestly think that you are making this shit up. The only time I've heard this rumour is on here and its come from you both times  . Seriously, what is your ******* problem??

We will definately have all 4 Junior grades this year and our numbers are actually more healthy than they were last year. We are even doing an Auskick program for the first time this year, so I doubt we would bother with that if we don't have any numbers.

If safooty had a like button ur comment would of recieved one for this part =))

Numbers have been slowly dropping with senior colts ive noticed since I last played it. Every club had a team and i dont recall TW needing to send players to other sides.

What do you call the efforts of both Virginia and United this year then MM? Two clubs, acknowledged they have a problem and have immediately set about rectifying the best way they can.
I think you got the answer you were after loud and clear. Maybe not the calmest of responses but you poke the bull enough, he gets angry eventually. Lol
