What are your thoughts on why you lost Swamp? Did you have a lot of guys down on there best? Or are Balak that much better? What quarter did Whitwell go off, if it was early, i'd imagine that would weaken you somewhat?

Dont think Whitwell is worth 9 goals though. Def surprised by the margin. Mallala wouldnt of lost many by that margin over the last 5 years.

I'd say that Balak completely outplayed us. They came to play and we didn't = 6 goals to nil in the 1st qtr  The intensity, pressure on the ball carrier and attack on the ball was much stronger from the outset which made it difficult for us to hit targets up forward. They defended very well and their skills were great. We were the opposite. We didn't pressure the ball carrier well enough and thus they were able to hit their targets up forward consistently and convert their chances. Mallala simply had too many players not committed enough at winning the loose ball or applying pressure when Balak had the footy. We had many players off their game but thats totally irrelevant, as thats what it is all about Woofa. Balak were very impressive and executed the game plan well and absolutely dominated us

Whitty went off in the 3rd qtr. The damage had been done well before that point. You don't win too many after giving the opposition a 6 goal head start.

MH, lost to United in 2007 by about 12 goals and we know what happened that year, but we have a hell of a lot of work to do to get back to our best. We could quite easily be 1 - 4 and bottom at this point after the 2 games prior to Saturday.

Massive game for us against Hamley in a fortnight.

From my point of view SD, it still felt like you guys were coming at us until maybe 5 mins into the last.
We just couldn't break away completely, I think you lads won the second quarter too.
Thought yourself, Rimmer and Joel Mont were standouts as well.

got to see first half of two wells and virginia and i must say two wells looked a little ordinary, i know there a young team so hope they can re group. Highlight for me was getting a smile out of MH.

Also i did notice young Joss Deglense(or however you spell it) has put alot of weight on since watching him at salisbury north.( might be the pot calling the kettle black) i certainly don't mean anything by this was just very noticeable. He still played a reasonable first half. Good bloke too. Hope he goes well. Except this week.

And then i ventured to mallala for the 2nd half there and to see mallala completely out played. All good things come to a end and i ask the question, is the dynasty over? Time will tell.

Highlight for me was "on songs" goal, what a great goal. And a nice celebration to go with it. Not massive on a celebrations but this one was ok =)

All in all was a good day.

I don't know how skinny Den Engelse (I think that's how it is spelt 8-[ ) but he's damn quick still if that is the case.
Gotta celebrate goals scud, they don't come along in bags every week for the rest of us.

WTF: From the police reports this morning...

A 17 year old youth was assaulted whilst attending the local football at the Two Wells Oval. He did not receive any serious Injuries and Two Wells Police will be following the matter up with a nominated suspect.

In a separate unrelated incident a player from the Virginia B Grade was also assaulted whilst he was on the field of play during the second quarter of the Two Wells versus Virginia football match. It is alleged that he was struck with some type of projectile which is suspected of having been shot from a sling shot or similar device. He was hit in the calf muscle and had to leave the ground and was not able to play for the rest of the game. Police urge any witnesses to the matter to Contact the Two Wells Police station on 85202309.

We heard about the second incident, thought it was hilarious considering us A graders apparently where the ones that done it :)) Like we are going to bring a slingshot and shoot some1 with a ball bearing :)) My money is the player calf muscle decided to give way. Hence why he thought he was shot :))

I did something similar quite a few years ago - running along minding my own business - then bang - felt like I had been shot - turned around no-one was there. WTF! Turned out I tore a monkey muscle (I think that's what it was called) - some small inconsequential muscle under the calf, but when it goes, it goes. I am tipping this is what happened.

Every side in this competition needs to be worried about playing hamley bridge. Not saying we are going to beat everyone but we will be a team that will be VERY competitive from here on in.

I heard it was a 17 year old that shot the ball bearing and there were witnesses. Also hard for a players calf muscle to go when they are standng stationary in the goal square, whilst the play is at the other end, awaiting for the ball to venture into the Two Wells forward line.

In all seriousness any news on the injured player and any news on the incident?

Save you all $1.40

A VIRGINIA reserves player was allegedly shot in the leg with a ball bearing during the game at Two Wells on Saturday.
Ricky Russo was playing in the back pocket in the second quarter when he was struck on the calf by the projectile.
Two Wells Police suspect it was shot from a sling shot or similar device.
As a result, Russo had to leave the ground and was unable to play for the rest of the game.
Virginia Football Club president, Paul Starr, said the player was on crutches after visiting Sportsmed physiotherapists this week.
“It’s in the police’s hands now,” Mr Starr said.
“(The police) know about it and we’ve put in a complaint to get it sorted out.”
Mr Starr emphasised the club had no ill feelings towards the Two Wells Football Club.
“It’s nothing against Two Wells or anything, you get these bloody rabbits at every club but we just can’t work out why anyone would do that,” he said.
Mr Starr was watching the match from the other end of the ground when the incident allegedly occurred.
“I had no idea until I went to the huddle and they were talking about it,” he said.
“He (Russo) said it felt like a bullet.
“When he looked down, there was a ball bearing there.”
It was a frustrating setback for the returning footballer.
“He hasn’t been playing for years and decided to come back and have a game of footy,” Mr Starr said.
“He was more upset than shaken I reckon.”
Mr Starr was unsure how many matches Russo is likely to miss.
“I don’t know what the extent of the injury is as yet,” he said.

hasnt played for years, he played all 3 games against TW last year including an A grade game! What a load of crock
