Market for this week's matches:

Balaklava $1.10 v United $5

Rate yourself much

I dunno about rating myself, but:

Of the 16 who put tips in, I think one, maybe two, picked United.
United had a couple of key players out.

Maybe that what they needed, everyone else to lift a notch to cover the high profile player. It was a great result for United which would do their confidence wonders.

Why isn't Brad Fitzgerald in the Association Squad? He's in the best players each week. Or is he just as I suspect keeping the Coaches car clean?

Tips Round 8:

Mallala 1-39: Magpies will bounce back after their performance a fortnight ago and win in a very tight contest. Magpies will need to lift their work rate and committment if they are serious finals contenders this year. Brian Mont to kick 5, Feeley 4 and John Burgess to kick 6.
Virginia 40+: Hummocks have been hit pretty hard with injuries since their dynamite start to the season, Virginia still in 1st gear IMHO, will find 2nd this week though. Scary for the rest of the competition. Nicklaus to kick 8
United 1-39: United finally finding some confidence and finally have contributors across the board. Opitz will ensure they don't drop this one. Stop Allmond and United will have a day out. With Sam McArdle, Burgoyne and his shadow to return, could well be a 40+ victory. Spurr to kick 6.

Balaklava to realise that in fact their bye was this week and not last week. Great win by the Tigers.

Tips Round 8:

Hamley v Mallala - Mallala 1-39, I have only been able to get to two games this year and both have happened to be when the bombers have got smashed, I can't get there this week so with the way this is year has gone I expect Hamley to be a lot more competitive and a surprise win may be on the cards, not going to have the balls to pick it though. Norm I am staying away, for the moment anyway :D
Hummocks v Virgina - Virginia 40+, Playing the game at Wakey which could be ugly for Hummocks as big Niklaus will get more supply than normal. Hummocks still a quality side but witnessed Virginia fist hand last week and seriously had a quality outfit, especially when they put the afterburners on in the last quarter against a 4-5 goal breeze. Philips doesn't mind throwing out a few explicits throughout the match. If he was paying a dollar into the swear jar for every time he swore then I know the secret on how Virginia are affording to pay their players.
Two Wells v United - United 1-39 United are certainly playing above where I thought they would be and Two Wells below. I think being at the water tower and the fact that Burgoyne and his mate to come back into the side will make it to hard for TW to win. MH will be extremely busy early next week washing the coach's car after having to drive on the dirt roads to get to Longies :D

This week's winners

Hamley Bridge v Mallala (1 - 39 points)
Hummock-Watchman Eagles v Virginia (1 - 39 points)
Two Wells v United (1 - 39 points)

Looking forward to the big clash at Long Plains on Saturday's with both sides winning last weekend against more fancied oppenents. Two Wells keeping its season alive with a victory snatched from the jaws of defeat. A vintage performace by Lee Allmond who won the Roosters the game off his own boot.
Two Wells Football Club Premiers - 1928, 1929, 1930, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1981, 1987, 2012, 2017, 2018
