How many "outside residential zone" players did the Cougars have this year? Many ex SANFL League or Reserves players. And how many for Paskeville? I think Ben Watkins used to play for them??

GWW, all teams are allowed four outside players. Watkins playing-coach there this year, along with boyd Kenny and Dylan Bienke, who both played underage/seconds at Port I think. Andrew Crowell also played for them, but he would probable be a local.

Cougars had Brad Vassal from Norwood, and two Byrne brothers - they may have been at Norwood too? Also, Ben Gunning, who is a local and won this years MM, who played seconds and a few league games at Norwood.

Quite similar to Imperials in the River Murray League.

I think both Pasky and Imps went down yesterday, very similar with Crystal Brook in Northern Areas who have lost a lot of Gf's in the last 10 years but didn't get to the GF this year.

Yep Imps lost again, Jervois hit the lead with only seconds remaining in the last quarter.

Amazing isn't it, how some clubs have it, and others don't. Broughton-Mundoora, for example, fighting for finals berths last two years, and end up premiers and runner-ups. Did it against Crystal Brook few years ago too.

Brad - Western United would be another one, eg last year. CMS Crows seem to have a good record in GF's. Kersbrook seem to usually find something extra and go further than others expect them to (this year an exception).

Kimba's GF record over the last ten years is pretty ordinary too, given the way they've dominated the minor round some years.

Western United in the past 5 years have been good before that they had a lot of very near misses.
Broughton do lift in finals there is no doubt, they have won 7 flags in Northern Areas and 4 have been against Crystal Brook, 86,97,00 & 06.
Having a bad record in GF's really destroys your spirit!

Congrats to Cougars on their premiership. As an ex-player I have always looked forward to reading their results in the papers. Been a long time between drinks so I guess there will plenty of them flowing over the rest of this week. Enjoy it.
All the best from all the Port Lincoln connection (there's a few of us ex Maitlanders over here)

Loxton's been in the past five Riverland GFs, won only one (2006).

Mildura's the only place where I've been kicked back into a bar by the staff!

Yeah, Lads didnt get the gig at Moonta, Nor did he want it in the end i think. Doubt Chris will go there when he finishes with North next year, or Hargreaves for that matter. Would have been two handy ins for 09'
