Have heard that he is at the Rams with Big Nik and the club may be holding him as guarantor for Hay's good behaviour and that if he gets rubbed out there will be a repercussion for Nik as well.

Hard to believe that would be the case.

The incident happened in our forward so I was too far to see it but heard it was for a punch to the head while our player was at the bottom of the pack. Sent off for rest of the game during the 3rd quarter. I've always thought a send off for the rest of the game was auto suspension. Bushy was at the game also so he saw the whole incident take place.

From what I've been told, Phillips chose to keep Hay in the shed until the storm passed.

A smart decision.

From what I've heard the league can deregister a player at their will and may come under fire if a serious assault occurs on the field and haven't decided to take action... Shall be interesting especially when the league gets notified of all prior reports upon registration. Perhaps he wasnt an issue prior to coming to APFL ?

I believe he was suspended for 7 or 8 games last year and De-registered by the SAAFL I could be wrong

I would suggest Ace there would be no "may come under fire" but in fact they will come under more than fire if this bloke does seriously assault another player. His behaviour is clear and consistent and it can be safely assumed a leopard does not change its spots. APFL has a duty of care to all participants.

The gutless act on Saturday should be enough for the league to realise that this type of player is not wanted in this league, the President was at the game, I assume he saw the incident that resulted in the send off, act on it. I am also quite sure the umpire had a very good view of the incident as well.

Virginia FC it is time to show some respect to the APFL and the other teams and p1ss this bloke off now. I hear the coach is saying that "he is under control" when clearly he is not. Anyone at the game on Saturday can clearly see that you are a better team without him - cut him loose.

If he got sent off then you would think the umpire would have seen it.
I was talking to the 2 umps who did our game in the clubrooms on Saturday and they told me they got a text to say that Hay was sent off but not reported. :?
Who were the umpires Jumbo?

But yes, agree, if somebody does get seriously hurt then unfortunately we might all be paying for the legal reprocussions (since the clubs own the league).
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

I thought a send off in the APFL was an automatic report and unless challenged by said player/club, was a 2 match ban???

Considering the Rams have been on the cusp the last few years, you would think they would learn a little discipline might be whats required to make that final step to premiers!

Whats the coaching situation in the APFL, it appears there might be a few places open in the neighbouring BLG???

The umpire that did the send-off was the young blond lad (I do know his name but it escapes me at the moment) - did a good job. I think he actually sent him off for the sling tackle into the ground, not the hit that followed - that's what I meant by the Umpire should have seen the incident.

Maybe Lightning can tell us who the other umpire was.

This situation does concern me greatly, just wish there was some positive actions being taken - maybe there is, we are just not seeing them.

As for the behaviour of some of the Rams supporters when the send off occurred, just bl00dy deplorable.

This blole needs to go. He was caught on video evidence smashing a goody saints player jaw and goody saints told Salisbury north if they don't move him on they will send the video in. Seems like nothing has changed.

A's
Balak 64.16 (24)
TW 67.22 (22)
Mal 61.14 (22)
Virg 55.33 (20)

A bit riding on the Balak vs Mallala clash this week. A loss to the home side will probably cost them minor premiership.

B's
Balak 63.57 (24)
TW 71.91 (22)
Virg 63.24 (20)
United 55.61 (18)

Mal 55.64 (16)

Mallala will be hoping the Rams get up over United and they knock off Balak's to make the 4.

Might cost them more than the minor premiership, a big touch up from the pies could see them slip to 3rd and face a Virginian team that has rolled them twice already this season in an elimation first semi final!!!!
