The Producer Medal? There is no Mail Medal in the plains.

Is there not 2 medals as in other leagues?

Nope. Well, not presented on the night anyway.

I hear there's been a bit of banter between the two GF teams over facebook. Haha.

Also a couple of cars rocked up at the TW celebrations for a bit of a look. Oh boy.

OnSong wrote:Great game of footy. Two Wells probably not as dominant as I thought they would be, especially if you take the goals from silly 50m penalties and Tallan Leighton's goal at the death, which looked well over the line.

That said, the result is in the bag and I'm sure there will some parties to come over the next few months.

My top three from each team:

TW-
J Allmond: BOG and rightly so, played the customary HB role while also jagging a few majors.
N Seccafien: Stood up at pivotal times and rarely made an error.
B Fitzgerald: Competed with Niklaus well after O'brien couldn't handle the big fella. Important role in defence.

Special mentions to Khan Leighton & Lee Allmond, who started well but drifted out of the game in patches.

V-
B Russell: outstanding job in the midfield, clean hands under pressure, worked his arse off.
A Mark: Rarely beaten. Simple as that.
B Niklaus: Kept the team in the game with important goals and took some contested grabs. Let down a bit once the ball hit the deck.

It was a fairly even consistent performance across the team, but Jarred was the standout IMHO, let's also not forget the first quarter and a half Fitzy was at centre half back and was pivotal in the early goals and completely shut out No 2 (Galic?).

Well done to all involved - it's been a long drought.

There were a few punters offering quite loud advice to the umpires, that would have also prompted the police presence at the final siren as a precaution.

Well done to Two Wells.
Thoroughly deserved to win the flag this year and after a slowish start to the year and were the best side in the second half of the year
Who played on Allmond on Saturday? Gave him way too much space?

They tried to put a tag on Allmond but he was just too quick and too good.

Allmond started on the same wing as Jose Deneglese but Deneglese barely moves from his wing and Allmond just floated were he liked. Two Wells boys do a good job of covering his man but he knows we're to go. Played ya best game for Two Wells according to your team mates MH. Well timed and well done. Just looking back at the season results and Two Wells loses of 3,4,12 & 16 points. Could have been an undefeated season but in saying that I think they needed the kick in the arse that the early loses gave them.

OnSong, do you have the offical TOTY yet?

I don't think there is an official one to be honest.
It was something I tried to instigate this year with the awards but never got legs.
I'll put one together with some expert help in coming weeks.
Also have an interesting Plains Producer medal preview coming up next week.

Medal count is after the prelim ( Sep 8 ) I believe.

I did not get an invite to the event, so I'm guessing they're not out yet or I failed miserably. Probably the latter.

Have you guys managed to put together your TOTY yet?
