On song any chance of a 3,2,1 points system player of the year in the producer or informer similar to the SANFL award done by the advertiser?? Love to see how far off the umpires are to the best player of the year!!

It's a good idea. I guess as the medal is named after the Producer, it is effectively our award, although the umpires do decide it.

I don't think they've gone one wrong in the years I've been here.

Usually footy writers would give out the points but as I don't get to see all the games, I don't think it would be practical.

It is a good idea though. In the Riverland, I reckon they have opposition coaches or presidents give out the 3,2,1 for the respective teams after the match for a different award. @bd u15 09?

Probably a bit late in the piece to organise it, although I could start it this week, just get the coach's votes when I catch up with them on Monday.

Thought the season preview was top notch onsong, good work

Cheers MH. Aside from a few printing issues with the HB and Balak club profiles, I thought it came up pretty well.

EDIT: Just realised an update of the TW junior coaches hadn't saved. Sh!t.

EDIT: Pretty sure that's Ben Stubing being tackled by Ben Russell on the back page too.

*ben slattery being tackled by Ben Russell

Haha. Knew it wasn't Hardiman. Of course it's big Slats.

Confused my big Ben's. Also didn't write that caption.

We were going to print last year's but after the crap the Sunday Mail copped, we decided against it.

That was awful by the Sunday Mail. Possibly it was a result of "cut and paste" journalism......

When and what did the SM do wrong this time?

Are you for real Sky Pilot?

The Sunday Mail's APFL profile had 2011's finals results (not 2012), along with 2012's ins and outs, etc. etc. The whole piece had NO relevance to 2013 at all. Slack as.

Big Surely was pus! Awful game! Awful hands, C grade for the big fella next week :P

Hamley Bridge did come home strong, couple of very good players was it number 9 i think had a great set of hands, but in the end Kilburns foot skills got them over the line, were able to hit targets consistently and control the tempo late in the game.

For Kilburn thought Pressler had one of his better performances, definately offers more to the side as a water boy :P they'll miss Nick Pearce this year by the looks.

Hamley Bridge shot themselves in the foot too many times, the bloke i think was fullback was strugglin and gave away several free kicks for holding and the sort.

Taylor was awful, couldn't get a kick. Greenwood struggled too.

Thach and Graham were the only quality players out there.
