This means that the colts are guaranteed selections, (nearly regardless of form) leaving 17 A grade spots available. I estimate 11 blokes are on dollars and would need to be in really bad form to be dropped, so that leaves only six spots available. Craig Young and Danny Ellis are definite starters so we are down to four.
SO - here's the scenario. The Bomber match committee is going to have make some hard decisions if an import falls out of form. The loss of a 3 point import allows the club to drop THREE colts and bring in four 'in form' reserves, (one to replace the injured/dropped import). Surely this would HAVE to strengthen the team, given that colts will fluctuate in form and an out of form import - regardless of reputation - is a liability.
What do other form users think?

Not bad for someone who just walked across the oval. I heard they used 22 points so the four colts would of put them to 18

Would it have been more insightful if I had RAN across the oval hounds? LOL!
Seriously though, I understood the max points was 15 - that then would mean Hamley would have to be fielding 19 points.

They could have applied for a three-point concession on top of the max 15 points. I'm not sure what their points situation is though.

Hamley I think are allowed 18 points, at least they were last year.

Going on Saturday's list, correct me if Im wrong, but this is how I see there points.
Armstrong - 3
V Thach - 2
Greenwod - 3
Hasledine - 3
Zanandrea - 3
W Thach - 2
Taylor - 2
Flynn - 2
Parsons - 3
Herberle - 2
Hanson - 2

Thats 27 points
I must have miscalculated a couple of players cause thats a fecking lot of points.

I was informed by someone who spoke to a member on the plains board that hamley were going to get all the help they could get from the league. Which includes green light for new players who come with points even if there over their allocation. I guess the way to go is get your team manager to print of thier team sheet and see who has points next to there name

Ash Parsons = 0 (played only reserves last season)
Winnie Thach = -1 (under 18)
Take off those 5 points and it brings HB back to 22. Providing Zanandrea is costing three points, it seems quite likely the Bombers are running on 18.
I'm still interested in responses to the scenario I originally presented.

Cheers Roodog. I knew it wouldn't be that many, but 22 is still a huge number.

Seems to me more clubs should be asking for more concession points, especially United and Hummocks, or aren't they in the same situation? Surely they have just as much of a right; even some of other 4 teams?

What does it matter?

Regardless Parsons is 0 as already stated. Zanandrea is 0 this year, but 2 next year. Not sure why. Dont care why becasue it cant be changed.

that is a ripper of a comment. a team of stars doesnt mean shit if the team is not well drilled and understand each players game style and ability

Sounds about right magpieeagle - permit for another 3 is for Zanandrea. will be altered in 2014.

according to this forum hamley are the most hated. i have been in this league for only 2 years and im interested to know why there is so much hatred towards a tiny country town with a country football club that has struggled for many years and are trying to find there feet. yet people love to continuously bag then and love to see them lose all the time. can anyone inform me why this is?

Don't think anyone hates Hamley, but when you have vocal posters on here you tend to get some heat come your clubs way.

The only reason people are criticising Hamley is because of the number of players recruited, and money being paid to them. The number of players is clear, the money side less so, but lets be honest there are a number of guys there on more than 500 a week.

This is against a background of th early 2000s where Hamley did something similar to win a flag then fall flat on their faces. It's also in a country football environment where money and player movement is causing some real problems.

It's a difficult situation when you are small club/town. What they are doing may well be the right way out of the hole Hamley are in. We'll only know in a few years time if people hang around and the results improve. It's also more noticeable when a team on the bottom gets some high profile players. I'm sure Virginia would be coughing up as much as Hamley but its less talked about.

Perhaps because you played with 27 points and got belted by 100 points. The only good thing about Hamley is the bbq and Will Hodgetts
