Don't let the paper fool you. My connections tell me Craig Taylor BOG by a long way. Pearson arguably most valuable player at Balak and it was evident Saturday missed his run.

I say let the paper fool you...

Both Barnett and Thomson mentioned the Bomber midfield unit of Win and Valor Thach, Taylor and Appleton all very, very good.

Will Faulkner be back for United this week? Banton reinjured his calf on the weekend, so he will be out.

The Tigs could do with some luck with injuries of late. Two Wells will regain Allmond and Hardiman.

I'll be back after the bye this week (hopefully).

Seccafien spent the night in hospital with delayed concussion.

Brad Robertson won the Anzac Day medal in the Virginia game. I thought I read somewhere that the league only picked 1 game to give out the medal?

One RSL endorsed one, which was meant to be at the HB v TW game but I don't think it ended up happening.

Other clubs organised their own Anzac stuff. Balak and HWE for example, approached the league to do their own internal Anzac Day medal, ceremony etc.

Not sure how to spell Nic/Nik/Nick. It has Nik on Sportingpulse. Anyway, it was Ned.

That is really disappointing if true, absolute lack of respect if so!

Also robbed a worthy player (whoever chosen) of something to be proud of!

Perhaps awarding it in retrospect may be an option, otherwise a huge disappointment!

I assume it would have gone to a HB player but the coach couldn't tell me who won it, nor if there was a presentation ceremony etc.

Perhaps it didn't eventuate, I don't know. I know there were medals presented at Virginia (Robertson) and Balaklava (Adam Turrell).

Its disrespectful to be handing them out for a game of country footy. Lets be honest!

I think the League should follow what the SANFL does and have the the grand finalist play on anzac day and that be the ONLY match a medal is awarded

I think the only time the league should be playing a game on ANZAC day is if it falls on a Saturday. Lets just admire the day for what it is without it having to involve country sports.
I fear the day is getting too commercialised as it is, I think the amateur league had something like 8 games on that day. Thats bordering on rediculous!
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

*ridiculous

I agree. All well and good if the 25th is the Saturday but otherwise, let's just play footy and get on with it. The doubling up of all the national anthem, last post, minute's silence, on a day other than Anzac Day baffles me.

Anzac Day was traditionally a day for commemorations and sport, i dont want to see rubbish about why we shouldnt play sport on Anzac day as it is "commericialised"..

Commemorations were held in the morning (pre sunrise until the end of the march, around 11.00am). Following the march, sport events were arranged, okay AFL was most probably not one of the sports played but seriously..
