Correct countrfootyfan. Scott Teakle has taken over the reins. From what I am hearing, there was a very long meeting last night. First of all to get rid of the coach that had driven a few players and quite a few club members away. That part of the meeting didn''t take long. Secondly, the assistant coach wanted the job and the committee and players didn't want him. That part of the meeting took forever. Thirdly. Scott Teakle was decided upon. That part of the meeting didn't take long.
Good luck to Scott. Great footballer who had a couple of footy seasons taken from his career in a very unfortunante football accident. Although this season is done and dusted for Ardrossan, at least they have a good bloke with good knowledge of the game at the helm to make the pending losses a bit more bareable rather than Craig Wilson going beseerk at them all the time.
Milo (Brendan McKeough) had his nose broken and apparently out for at least 4. Possibly some other facial bone broken as well. Not sure on that.

Who was the assistant coach?? I know for a fact that several locals had walked, some may return but do know some refuse to...

Sent a message to a mate tonight who is involved at the club to see how things went. Had about 35 on the track compared to 20 in past weeks. A few locals back at the BBQ. John Hall was the assistant coach under Wilson

No players with him. If you call, yelling at players, calling them dumb country fools being a motivator he probably was. My understanding he was good for the fitness and preseason training and it all stopped as soon as they had opposition against them

That's sought of what I meant great for fitness and pre game pump but soon as ball is bounced clueless

Respect is needed to be a good coach, don't have to be everyones best friend, but if they all respect you and what you have to say, you are along the right path.

Teakle as a past Captain of the club would/should already have that with some of the playing group so thats a positive start.

Hall is from the club. On most of the committees. Coached a bit of under 12 and a premiership in Senior colts a few years back. From memory may have coached the association under 17s on an occassion.

You have probably heard more stories than me. I had heard he gets things done but upsets a lot of people on the way which in turn buggers up his good work.
Oh well, see what the reaction is on the field when they play the 2nd bottom side, Eastern Park, sorry, Central Yorke Cougars today

You would presume the committee. Not hard these days to make a few phone calls. Accessing information is a lot easier these days.

Norm11. Caught up with a mate that is involved at the club yesterday. From his knowledge which would be a lot, the coach, assistant coach, captain, selector and football manager select the weekly teams so I guess the coach would have a fair bit of input as to who plays.
He went on to say that they have had a lot of injuries to key players this year. Also that the coach for the previous 3 years had done a very good job with limited recruiting by the club. He did it for just about no $, promoted a lot of young lads from colts to give them experience and had the respect of the players. Surprisingly to most members and the players at the club, the club decided to replace him with wilson, spent a fair bit of money on players and obviously from results have gone backwards. He said the players had no respect for Wilson due to his demeanor, attitude and abuse rather than advice he gave them. Members started to not attend functions such as the members day, thurs night bbq etc. Now that the club has got Scott Teakle at the helm, some members have returned but it will be a tough few weeks for the rest of this season and then a lot of rebuilding will have to be done again.

Having plenty of mates down at the roo's, your above post is spot on going by what most of them have said. Previous coach Moulds got plenty out of his local lads that came through the ranks. He needed some quality imports as well and never received them. The players they gave imported this year can obviously play but with the drop in the local talent they are back to square one minus the $$ they are spending in imports. Need to find an equilibrium between solid locals and imports to key positions, easier said than done but by the sounds
Of it teakle should succeed, if he stays on
