If Barnett has enough players to cover every position twice, then if a bloke has a niggle, he may not SELECT him for the team rather than him be unavailable for selection, therefore avoiding a week suspension.

He may be trying to do the righting by people rather than annoy people by getting them out to training. People with niggles may have also been left out of the squad for this reason. Hasnt Montgomerie had some injury concerns this year?

Or maybe Barnett is just trying to piss people off, I hear he likes doing that.

Really RooShoot? I don't think Barnett or anyone for that matter would stuff around with something as important as association selection just to piss someone off.

Wouldnt mind seeing you tell him that. Before you do, let me grab a Can of Rum and some Salt and Vinegar Chips.

Sorry, Ill make sure to use little smileys etc next time to make it easier for you lot to understand when I am trying to be funny... does this suit

Maybe a comment on the main message of my post wouldn't go astray.

For sure - comes with a bonus -1 point.

P.S. not trying to flame the forum points war, just saying.

That's what I originally thought. But the minus one point rule defines a "junior player" as
A player under under the age of 18 years who has played a minimum of 25 games from the year he turns 13 years of age with the club of an affiliated league with which he is seeking registration

Very handy player regardless.

Matty Good did play. Foot skills were off early, but got plenty of touches and didn't look out of place. Don't know how often Hamley will have him, as I'm not sure of his playing situation at Central District.

Of course ya gotta add smileys RooShoot if your trying to be funny - otherwise it just looks like you're making random mindless statements!
Referring to your main message then: It's possible if the selection committee knows a bloke is sore, he may not be picked for the squad, but remember the Landmark Cup is still a few weeks off yet so a niggle wouldn't keep a player from being selected in the training squad. Any unavailability issues would be dealt with later - hopefully not in the same ridiculously harsh manner they were last season.
