Eagles were good. They were fired up to go right from the start, but Hamley were pulling away and looking the better before the wheels fell off in big fashion during the second half. Ruckman Sullivan maybe dislocated a finger (didn't return to the field) and nearly immediately the Bombers started losing clearances as Andrew Turrell and Justin Cicollela started getting a lot more hands on the footy. Zanandrea spent an extended period off the field with injury and Taylor and Heberle missed most of the last quarter - also injured. A couple other blokes don't appear to be fully fit either. A lot of the Bomber players also looked to be suffering from three consecutive games on their boggy home deck. They seemed flat footed and lethargic at times, with Eagle players breaking tackles and eluding Bomber players too easily. Some thinking to be done.

We haven't got a "team of the year" award per se but I did put together one for the paper last season as a discussion point.

Heard Tommy Forrest dislocated his ankle on the weekend. Huge loss for HWE. Great player and bloke. All the best for his recovery.

Not sure at this stage. Was pretty sore and didn't play a majority of the game in the end.

I'm sure players and supporters may have been disappointed with a 2 goal win but at the end of the day the bombers did what was needed and came away with a win. Take nothing away from Hummocks. They match up very well and were 6 or 7 goals down and never gave up. The people that came to celebrate their 10 year premiership reunion would have been proud of their efforts. The game itself was dull to watch and Hamley maybe had one eye on the Mallala game and finals and Hummocks probably just want the season to be over.
Massive clash this week and a preview of first final.
A couple of injury worries to key Hamley players. Hopefully all pull up and play this week.
