Talk on any country footy league or club from the SA Country area

Barossa the team to beat, i dont think so. Yeah they have improved since 2004 (impossible not to) but i reckon they have got a bit of work to be anywhere near Kapunda. I would defintely have Kapunda, Freeling and Centrals well before Barossa. If they loose the 2 Stelzer boys(legends) they are in a bit of trouble.

Heard on the Grape Vine, Tanunda has paid Sturt the tidy sum of $5,500 for a clearance for Craig Tayler. Craig had played at Sturt last year on a two year contract after the Blues had spent $10,000 to get him from the Port Magpies at the end of the 2005 season, Seems like the Blockies are all cashed up $$$$$$$$$$$$$, This is the same club that was fined for going over the cap last year (2006) to finish out of the four?

Egos will be a problem at Tanunda.
Interesting they're still paying loads - not much money in grapes over the past year. Hear they aint the only cashed up club.
Last year's premiers still going ok.

Looking at their ins and outs this year, it certainly will be interesting to see how the reigning premiers get around the import rule. There again they have had practice in the past at it.

I dont think Barossa is a problem, they're a waste of time! Lost too many premiership players from last yr, all headin to the sanfl and other country zones.

Word on the street is that freeling have picked up an ex west torrens and state CHB player who was once on richmonds list many years ago. I think his name is brent frewen........? Can anyone confirm??

I think the Bulldogs are headed for back to back, Occa is no slouch mate, he is a very smart operator, smarter than people give him credit for.

Dont think Frewen will add much actualy. Way to injury prone, and only ended up playing 2's at the eagles as he was way to slow. Dont think country footy will suit him ( apart from the money they are paying him( as he aint the hardest bloke goping around. The boy thinks he is better than he is me thinks.
If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

Might be referring to when van Dommele was Barossa coach in the early 90s.

He brought a whole bunch of imports with him to the club.

They all 'lived' in the caravan park at Williamstown Oval.

Made the prelim that year but lost both finals.

And Gavin Chaplin almost lost his head.
