Virginia the surprise packet on top of the ladder. Big win over TW. Mallala have some work to do based on the game against United. The Peckers were kind enough to stay in 1-39 for me :D . Good luck tipping next week.

ANZAC Day game format a resounding success. Huge crowd for APFL, great atmospere.

Don't rate United Lame Choice? I do agree Mallala have some work to do though.

Heard virginia ran tw off their feet on sat, seems the early preseason has put them in good shape for the early part of the year.
Looks like this season once again could be I tight tussle all the way the the business end once again.
Are long plains flying under the radar a bit? Or did Mallala have a bad day?
Not taking any credit away from long plains but seems either they have had vast improvement or Mallala played a bit off..

I'd be more concerned about Two Wells. Where is Khan Leighton gone? Two explanations I've heard:

1) Chasing poon all the time

2) Stacked his motorbike

I'm leaning towards explanation 1.

I think you'll find United have improved a lot Kcco. Mallala certaintly weren't at their best, but United played better football for most of the game.

:D ;)
Played b grade a few weeks back, played pretty ordinary football aswell, the way tw were playing there wasn't a spot for him.
Word on the grape vine is the rehab is almost done and should appear against long plains.

Thanks swamp for the serious reply. All credit to longies then seems like they are serious competitors this year.

United played very well as they often do against Mallala on big occasions. They should have won the match except for Maradona at the end. However - IMHO, Mallala looked a bit off to me. Skill errors that led to turnovers hurt badly throughout the day, particuarly as players got tired.
Do I rate them? Yes - but 4th.

Did hear Mallala's skill level was down on its usual high standard.

Maradona?[/quote]

Feeley and his freakish soccer skills. Over his head in the dying minutes brought the house down.

I did say at the start of the year that TW and Mallala by the length of the straight. But with results to date I've er..umm.., been thinking that may be a bit incorrect.

I still think they'll be 1 and 2 again - but not so far ahead of the rest.
Virginia looked good Saturday and would have to be rated in the mix now (early days I know).
United probably fourth.
Hamley thereabouts too.
Balak and then HWE (who look to have a long year ahead).

Shoot me down - but you did ask.

I'm pretty sure Virginia was a fair bit under-manned too.

I think you're around the mark, I think the only difference between the top 5 teams is who turns up to play on any given day, excellent for the comp.
