G'day OTH - Gee I thought Grocke and Powell were locks.

I understand my boys at Tigerland will be about the same, Tom Johnson, Cam Stewart and Ed Johnston are all outs, maybe a couple others I've missed as well. I heard we've picked up a couple blokes to cover them which leaves us about par with last season. I think Baust will play all year and we have a few back from long term injuries as well. Hopefully our young group will improve on last seasons efforts with another years experience. But maybe 2016 could be the year when Johnno, Ed etc return.

In my opinion, it comes down to injuries. No sour grapes here as Echunga were a great team in the Prelim, but losing Matt Jenkin (B&F) in the first minute with a hammy, Johnno (quality) with a knee before halftime, Brocky (ultra-reliable) and young Jack Maxwell both with concussion left us really exposed when Echunga exploded in the second half. I'm a believer you need to be up n about and have a bit of luck at the right time of year.

Maybe Hahndorf were recently trumped but I'd heard that Grocke & Powell were pretty much done deals.

The final hearing to determine the promotion/relegation issue is taking place in the Supreme Court at 10:15am tomorrow morning.

At the end of proceedings our legal team were satisfied that our arguments were all well delivered.
The judge has now reserved his judgement. We all hope that he finalises this as soon as possible so everyone in the HFL can have some certainty about 2015."

I also read in the Courier this week that Echunga were backing there junior program? Does that mean they are not interested in recruiting players like Grocke.

So far Grocke has been signed by Hahndorf, Onka, Echunga and McLaren Vale (that's from posts on this forum alone).
