Texas, are the early signs looking positive for a tilt at the 2010 premiership ?

I think the lions would be quitely confident of making the 4. However, we are a long way off from the season!!

This happens every year Texas! Cheers for not letting us all down on the BLG site again!
We knew you would entertain us all on South's great and possible finals pre season form, once again!
South have two hopes on making the finals- buckleys and none.

Go the Panthers!!!!!!!! 2010 premiers.

South wouldnt make the finals if they started now. When you celebrate a win, like a premiership your never gunna be successful. They are the ultimate party club! Showing Herzick the door is a step in the right direction but the blokes they have recruited are not better than the ones that have left. Should be a another long winter for the lions next year.

Jugsy - finally someone talking my lanuage!
I have a very close relationship with some lads that were let down, sorry i mean coached by Mulligan last season and this is him to a tea... he thinks he is an AFL coach and comes out all guns blazing; pre-seasons, reports, directions, reports, team rules, reports, tries to completely change the club and then really never actually delivers on his job "COACHING AND MOTIVATING A TEAM". Dont get me wrong, from all reports he is a nice guy, has all the credentials, but cant get the job done.
we've all seen it before, the guy that is over-qualified for the job, has all the creds, you hire him and he cant make it through a weeks work... He's probably lucky that Kym Hilliard sticks by him, as Mulligan cant even stimulate a conversation with another adult...
I dont ever feel sorry for South or old mate "ship-jumper" Milligan... I just question thier motives... Can they not see how important it is to get good blokes into a country football club (e.g. a Ben Britton). You dont need a university degree to run, be involved or play in a country football team...

Not sure one bloke makes for a good club. Milligan might have jumped clubs but Kapunda haven't been that great in previous years in keeping coaches. What they did to Prouse wasn't what a good club would do. My point is that people have there directions and motives some clubs/ people don't like them they split. From my outings with Milligan he certainly knows what he wants but i for one will have to say playing under him a few years back he was a very good coach and a guy willing to listen and give his honest opinion. Not much more you can ask to be honest.

We only need to look at what one of the best minds going around in country football today , Rian Nelson , was able to do with average team and a board full of statistics.

Lets not sell Nelson short, the ability to coach a star studded team from back to back premierships to not making the finals in two years is a credit to his astute football knowledge.

Those years carrying the Willaston A grade rucking duties has helped graft his mind into one of the true football scientists of the APFL and must regarded within the upper echelon of amateur league coaches.

Swooper, you are judging a bloke on one season at Kapunda where they were lucky to get a dozen on the track and fielded a side with about 6 players actually up to A grade standard. Even then they managed to be fairly competitive most of the time. So stop knocking a bloke for having credentials and trying to put some proffesionalism into a club that sadly needs it. ps what are your credentials by the the way?

Just wait until we see the first batch of university graduate coaches, just like the US.
We'll have more coaches like Stafford who haven't even played the game.
Back in my day, Pat Tocaciu and Daryle Beale used to communicate to their players via morse code.
The Sponge Microsoft packages can now extrapolate all sorts of shit.
Coach Hadden now communicates to his players via Twitter.
How far we have come!

Bollocks. I played at a club where Milly trained for a while and he seemed perfectly capable of doing so.

Standing at less than 6ft and 90kgs kicked 100 goals in a side that only finished mid field and spent a lot of time on the ball.
Diddles Harvey current BLG toughest guy at the moment broke his jaw second qtr at Kapunda played the rest of the game and collected 3 votes.
Catchard also up with the best of them.

pit-bull-sh1t... Harvey is again one of those players that is built like tarzan, but does a little of the playing like Jane. Yes on occasion he will get a hard ball and he does win a lot of posession, but in later years he has sat back a lot and can only kick the ball 25m max. Therefore he is actually not effective at all.
As for the broken jaw, did you know that he actually tried to snipe Kapunda's Brad "Wrangy" Valentine, when Brad had his head over the ball and brad being a genuine "hard at it" player, bounced off Harvey and disposed of the ball (well over 30m i've heard), whilst the man with the gayest name in the comp (Diddles), was left licking his wounds... Hold on, no he was not licking his wounds as he probably coult not his tongue out of his mouth.
TRUE TOUGH PLAYERS ARE NOT THE ONES THAT KNOCK PEOPLE OUT WHEN OTHERS HAVE THIER HEAD OVER THE BALL. THEY ARE THE ONES THAT TACKLE HARD, BREAK THROUGH PACKS AND DEMAND RESPECT, THEY ARE BY NO MEANS FEARED BY OPOSITION, AS THEY PLAY A FAIR GAME.

Hey Creamy easy to talk tough on this site when no one knows who you are, I will check in with Carl who may have decked him from Ango, the answer will probably be no one or I may find out who you are if your claims are correct.

Apologies Swoop, names too similar.

Snooze, Im well aware of the 2-0 result in Kapundas favour against South last year. That is exactly my point, South on paper should have smashed the very very average Kapunda side yet were beaten both times. Why do you think this was??

Apology accepted Beegrader, not too sure what Snoozers agenda is at the moment, claiming to be a Tanunda man but on the other hand claiming that he played under Milligan last season? Perhaps you can explain Snoozer, as I'm certainly a Tanunda man I'm more than happy to have some support on this blog.
