Standing around 6'1 to 6'2 in the old scale Bennett is an attacking defender or could be used as a KPP if need be.

Yes, done deal.

Whilst Bennett was always heading back to Adl after two years in the bush, he'll be a big loss to Millicent. As it was Duldig (when at Glenelg ) that put his brother Steve (then coach of Millicent) onto Bennett. When Matt was deciding which club to sign with, there was that faint chance that if Duldig had signed w his former club Millicent, that Bennett would likely stay another year. So inadvertently Angaston got two for one deal...i doubt if Bennett does sign, he'll play for nothing tho :)

I don't think you will find that anyone from Angaston is denying or hiding from the fact that they have gone out and spent a bit of cash (as all the Tanunda posters have done for the last couple of years). With the number of ageing bodies in the A grade squad the window of opportunity to win a flag is now and the club has rightfully seen this and bolstered up the side with quality footballers that CAN make a difference. On top of all of this, I heard over the weekend a considerable list of players coming back to the club (all have played more than their share of a-grade games and in fact 5 of the 7 names mentioned played in the panthers 03 premiership side) this will in no doubt improve the depth of the club and put pressure on all a grade spots.

Ollie Seelander has been playing a better hand than Gus Hansen this pre season, been sighted at about 20 different pubs and clubs trying to win the right blokes over to willaston. They still haven't seen anyone worth going ALL IN on , but have called many bluffs and apparently may have picked up a couple of reasonable pots that fit in nicely with his exciting young chip collection.

Seems to me that if the grapevine is true and 2010 is going to be a battle of the budgets , then the Donnybrooks would be smart to keep checking until they have enough of their own players on the button before they go all in and take the title!

The only denying from the Tan bloggers is some of the BS figures thrown around on this site. If you go back through many posts you will see a figure of 60 to 70K (that is a lot of money), that is what Tan has spent and that is a well known fact and there is no denying that, not the massive 100K as some would lead you to believe. So if you are so honest what did Ango spend last season and what are they going to spend this season? I will accept a aproximate answer for the forthcoming season as things can change with injuries and players leaving or just not turning up (which may well just happen, you can only believe all the rumours when thet finally run out on round 1).

while i'm on might as well have a go at swoopers request!!

2009 - 35 K lucky to save money on injuries to havery (6 games), dawes (5), robinson (4) and the B-Train (13) would of spent 50 k if all playing.

2010 - 60 K and rising, still got room to move....get on the panthers!!

Like it or not, any club wanting a serious crack at the tiltle will feel it in the hip pocket.
Recent history shows Money = Premierships. (Barossa x 2, Tanunda x 2, Freeling no cigar x 3)
Failure on the last day in September with a big budget will quickly unsettle the natives. Just ask Scott Leal and Lubke (2007).
Our poorer cousins from Gawler may struggle to generate income to compete at the highest level.
Back in my day Mayor Hurn, Kym Lehmann and myself played for butchers of port.

Pretty spot on the mark there Toronto. Did have two different names in Louise Hadden back from centrals and Matt Liney back from out yonder and knee injury. As you said not all these guys will play a-grade but good depth for the club and certainly will strengthen the B- grade.

Definetly some handy inclusions.
In an effort to try and settle you boys down, more often than not these blokes will be in the showers by 2.20pm.Can't deny the competition will be placed on the first 21, but where in it to win A-Grade premierships.
