A player was taken off the ground for apparently NOT making a lead from the forward line which is fair enough BUT the worrying part was witnessing the teams RUNNER barrating the player and forcefully poking the lad hard in the side of his head.
My question is should a runner ever have the right to lay a finger on any player let alone a 16yo kid?
Was great to see the lad go back on the ground and kick 3 quick goals before once again being dragged for not centering the ball when having a shot for goal from the pocket.
Dont get me wrong IF a player hasnt followed team rules its fair enough to drag him and for the COACH to have a word with him but i dont think a runner or anyone for that matter should be laying a finger on any player.

Absolutely not !!! Runner should be sacked immediately if what you have said is true.

Instead, if I was a 16 year old my old man would have then taken the runner out the back and sorted it out "Damir Dokic" style.

I think the signing of interstate superstar Dave Wood will be a more than adequate replacement for mediocre 2s player Todd 'Cheezel' Read. He has looked amazing on the track and should have no worries adjusting to the competition.
All aboard the B-Train!

South Gawler came within 17 pts of the League 'Stand-Outs' Tanunda today in a tough, wet, messy, hard, slog and it was great to see that they can have a 'Never say die attitude' and that 'No man was bigger than the team' today.
It was great to watch a team that is clearly 'taking one week at a time' and 'blooding new Recruits' walk off the ground with their heads held high.
