Angaston may still be dangerous even if they are at 4-4 come mid-season,
The Man of Iron Craig Harvey to return soon, Bain should be back this week,
Phil 'The General' Bennett back this week ......again, and Kurtzy only 3 weeks away with a broken fibula,
would have the Panthers at full-strength and without excuses for the 2nd round of games.
Beware this side if and when they get rolling.........

Missed the game on the weekend Stewie, but very disappointed when checking the results.
Too many injuries costing the panthers, will now need to play their full allocation of games come September.

It was great to watch a team that is clearly 'taking one week at a time' and 'blooding new Recruits' walk off the ground with their heads held high.

Yep... 'one week at a time' just like the 99 point thrashing by Gawler Central last week??
No team is unbeatable? Well South didnt win and Tanunda still are unbeaten...
Never believe your own publicity? Well South Gawler and Tanunda probably should because they both are in exactly the same position on the ladder as they were last week.
Got within 17 points of Tanunda on a wet day, something to build on for the next few years...

All that you say is correct, from 99pts down one week to 17pts down the next is an 82pt improvement correct???;- and no matter what you say, the young Players will have between their ears that they got close and can improve on that... Tanunda aren't unbeatable.... noone is!

Final Margin was probably flattering for Ango in the end, 13 points was as close as we got from quarter time,
Scooter is out of control, must have dragged 4 of his 8 straight out of a leperachaun's ass,
The guy is on fire though and seemingly turning 42 has not slowed him down.
Full credit to Centrals though, think most thought they would drop off this year and with Sladey to slot in
come about 3 weeks they only get better. Don't match up well on Tanunda or Barossa height-wise,
which ultimately means they can't/won't get past another prelim.
Meanwhile playing the full allocation come finals time would not be a huge concern,
we have done it every year we have played finals since at least '03.
Just have to make sure we get the full team on the park and gather some momentum going in,
Our season may just get rolling around July.....latest 'start' to a season ever?

Pinch Hitter - how will The Donnybrooks go this week , wooden spoon up for grabs?
Do you think Olly has any tricks up his sleeve?

Anyones guess Borat, the hapless donnybrooks seem to be pissing against the breeze with an injury count bigger than D Day.

On form the lions look to have ticked more boxes going into this weeks battle.
The writing is on the wall - learn to read and you might survive

I sense Pinchy's gone to ground after their diabolical start to the season.
My money's that Nobby will allocate the GF to Willaston in an effort to fund their 2011 campaign.
Can't imagine that Seelander would be a happy camper.
Might go have a warm English Tea!

I think your dreaming a little bit there Stewie. Harvey is out for the season and Kurtzy only just broke his leg so probably still in plaster and on crutches, no way in the world he will be back soon.

Pinch, what is the story with Shannon Woods clearance request to Virginia. With so many injuries down at the Brooks losing players at this stage of the year to neighbouring leagues would be sitting to well with the powers to be down that way.

Mid week tips:

Tan v Ang = Tanunda have a few injury concerns and this could open the door up for Angaston who are needing a kicker game to get there season rolling. Panthers in an upset by 15pts
Wil v Sth = Clash of the wooden spoon challenges. Willaston has been destroyed with injuries to key players and if South can put together the same effort as last week then South will get up by 3-4 goal
Cen v Fre = If this wasn't played at the dog track then it could have gone either way. But being at the home and Hahn in superb form (can't see who Freeling will play on him) the yellow and black Tigers will win this game comfortably in the end by 45pts
Bar v Kap = Barossa will be too big and too strong for the Kapunda bombers. If Barossa aren't already big enough they now also can include Glen Chamberlain back into the mix. Kapunda need a miracle but can't see it happening, dry day 10 goal margin.

Ladder after Round 8

12 - Tanunda
12 - Barossa
12 - Gaw Cen
8 - Angaston
6 - Nuri
4 - Freeling
4 - South
4 - Kapunda
2 - Willaston

I see on the Northern Areas forum a bloke by the name of Brett Woodard has gone to the highest bidder (which always translates to Southern Flinders in the NAFA). Apparently he played some reserves at Central District and shopped himself around. Copley and 2 Hillebrands have also left the BLG over last 12 months.(I think they played for Gawler Central).

Mate of mine has a fair bit to do with Brenton Jones (Coach of Jamestown) and he reckons a former Angastonian, Central District legend and Gawler coach is related to Scott Brand (Southern Flinders coach). This might be the link to these $ chasers going to Southern Flinders. Who is the man in question?

I reckon McMillan will go to Hahn, and if the delivery from the midfield is put under pressure he will go ok against him

Which players have Willaston lost other than Baker? Basically they've have fallen behind the pack from 2009 and teams like us and South have recruited.

We breed them hard in Angaston, Harvey and Kurtz were still under warranty (Just) and have then
pushed themselves to be back a lot earlier than expected.
There is some speculation Harvey was ready to go last week but wants to wait and make a dual come back with the General this week.
As for Brett Woodards, have severe doubts he will be going to Southern Flinders,
Is a good kid and a solid addition to any team without being a star, shouldn't really command big bucks as he isn't a game breaker.
In saying that though he has worked hard to get where he is and would be welcome back at his home club for the remainder
of the season. I think Gepps Cross might be schmoozing him the nicest though.
Good luck to him either way.

Word is out that Zoolander has given the Willaston job the flick at end of year,
Injuries devastating what MAY have been a reasonable year, latest on the list 'recruit' Tosold with AC/Shoulder for the season.
Who would've thought we would be saying South by how much.........
Questions would need to be asked at Willaston though as to why the juniors don't seem to progress to solid senior players,
they do at Gawler Centrals who enjoy continued success despite losses of quality players during the off-season.
Rumour has it that Benny Burgess may be close to A-grade selection for Ango this week, apparently wants to convert
to a defender so he can play next to his football idol..........the General.

Burgess's body wouldn't stand up to A-grade level any more I would have thought. Anyway think he is happy just having a kick in the magoos. Who's the General, I know Burgess and Kurtz are close mates so is that who you are talking about.
