Some guys unlucky to miss out but tough to get in front of the boys listed above.

How do you justify having Harvey and bennett in that side? Neither would have played more than half their teams games and it's not like ango won the gf.

Not sure if anyone has written this but don't you feel stupid. yeah i suppsoe it's pretty hard to justify having a mail medalist in the side.
Have always said that Mr. Diddles is the best 'country' footballer i've seen play. Have witnessed him eat bricks for breaky.

JD - Yes, looking at this now, a bad comment..... At the time of listing a fair comment (with a player only fronting for 10 games). Simply shows he had an impact on 1 - umpires and 2 - a dud of a football reporter.... The above certainly does not make him one of the best country footballers you or i have seen. He is a good footballer (ball getter), and deserving winner, no doubt. But please dont mention his name amoungst football greats... Good, but not GREAT...

Agreee with you on Hurst and can safely say Lagana was a flash in the pan.
Didnt see enough of Steinert and Spanagel so let others comment on them.
Reimann good honest player but worthy medallist not so sure.
Baker (dual medallist. Mmmmmm)

I would say Danny Westoff, Richard Anderson and Matt Doecke most unluckiest.

I still stand by my comment. In fact his selection in the TOTY makes perfect sense now. of course you cant have the mail medallist not in the team.
apparently a fair few players walked out of the vine scratching their head on monday night. is harvey really that good that he can sweep a mail medal in ten games? i dont think so, but i like to think that he has been rewarded for being a very solid BL&G footballer over a long period of time. that is the only explanation... or the umpires have no f'n idea.

Snoozer, I would be intrigued to know what makes a great country footballer in your eyes,
Clearly you have been indulging in Willaston's finest grass if you think Diddles Harvey does not meet that criteria.
I have played footy alongside a few decent players over the years and Diddles would have to be one of the finest and would
have no hesitation calling him great. He along with David Green and Mick Spanagel have the ability to influence the outcome
of a game single handedly, that would be fairly close to great I would reckon.
On that Note, someone questioned whether Mick Spanagel was a worthy winner....100%.
I have never seen a more complete and athletic ruckman (no Offense to Billy Wells but Spanner was better),
and he was an extremely worthy winner of the medal.
Questioning Nick Reimann's deserved-ness is ludicrous too, he is still going strong at 37-38ish in Ango's 2's and
was a Dominant forward/ruck in his day.
I don't rate Shaun Baker hugely highly from when we have played him but he is obviously a great player to win 2 medals.
Wouldn't think anyone thought much of Liberatore's brownlow but he still has one more than the rest of us....
And meanwhile who deserved the medal more on Monday night at the vine? Sammy Agars was awesome early but
his stint in the NT on the off-season saw him run out of gas in round 8 or so.

Well done Harvey Kietel, after a massive man hunt you finally caught the schulter. Diddles is a legend of the BLG and now has the medal to prove it.

With only 18 votes to beat Bakes might of won another one this season if he played more than 2 games. How Shaun didnt pole a vote in round 2 after tearing the GC tigers a new ring piece and kicking 5 in the second half is baffling.

I found it quite baffling that against Angaston in Round 15, Mal Greenwood was awarded 1 vote after he was on the bench for 2 and an half quarters with broken ribs. WTF umpires?

I think it will always baffle ya if your looking at the wrong game BR84. Greeny got those votes the week before against South Gawler (Round 14). He broke his ribs the following week and got no votes.

Stewie, just a few differences between Harvey and Baker. Yes Baker is an arrogant peice of s**t, BUT... He can take an over head mark, play forward and kick goals, HIT A TARGET OVER 50M, has a left, i think could played on a HBF if required and also collect a lot of footy. The fact that he has a bad attitude, oftens provides him with a few enemies. Can Harvey do all of the above, i am not so sure??? Yes he is a great ball getter, a hard worker and is an onfield leader. But he simply does not have enough tricks to his bow... In saying that I would have him in my team, but instruct him to sit at home (middle) collect ball and handball only.... :)
p.s. There are players outside of Angaston that can play the game :) As BeerGrader eluded too...

Harveys greatest strength is to grab the ball out the middle and kick the goal from out side of 50 or put it deep into attack.
They are the sort of players that win you games of football.
Not sure there are to many other players that can do that in this comp?

And dont forget Harvey is a tackling machine, no one breaks his tackles, just ask greenwood and his ribs.
Baker thinks tackle goes on thew end of a fishing line

GC by 16 points - With Paul Stelzer and Darren Sharp not likely to play it will weaken the Doggies.
