It's an insult to import players who actually played for a club for more than just money, and fell in with the club's culture; not like the mercenaries we're seeing these days. Once you get the premiership, find another club who offer you more. I think some of the successful clubs from last year have already realised this. Wonder how many of Willaston's "rotation" will stick around when the money dries up?

I can name around 5 of their imports who would sell their soul for a couple of hundred bucks.

It's funny you could name 5 of them yet couldn't name 5 close mates of your's
Last year willaston got beaten badly in all but one game and copped nothing but crap on here, This year they recruit well yet they still get all the sad " SOULS" on here having nothing good to say. I for one am not a willaston supporter but a few clubs in the barossa could take a leaf out of there book and get some good players to there club that are 0 points. Smart recruiting.

That would be fine Richie if it were all done transparently and there weren't so many "iffy" dealings going on down there. What about the clubs who've tried to do it the right way?

Mate there are already rules in place hence why i have said it's smart recruiting. Your so called "IFFY" dealings to me is your opinion.
I think the points system has worked perfectly. It's made the entire comp alot more competitive and im not sure about you it's made me want to pick the paper up on a sunday morning to check the results. For many years now the BLG has been a very boring comp in knowing who the winner was going to be each week. I also like reading on here how clubs are playing more juniors each week surely that in it's self is a big plus on the points system. Just my opinion!

Would be detrimental for South to get him back anyway,
And an extremely questionable decision from whoever would make it.
The most notable on-field change for South this year has been a change in attitude,
more 'team' orientated, so why bring back a selfish footballer.
For the first time in 6-7 years I see South heading in the right direction.
Avoiding U-turns would be wise.

Didn't mean it to be a personal attack, is a reasonable guy from what little I know,
Just don't think he ever really put the team 1st on the field from what I saw.
In other news.....Heard a whisper that Brett Woodards is being sought after by Nuriootpa for next year,
apparently they are counting on Ango's charitable nature to not oppose the move.
According to sources he believes that wearing the black and Yellow at Southern Flinders brings out his eyes and highlights his adonis-like physique and now will only play for teams of that colour.
He will be demanding a $5000 sign on fee, just so he feels like he gets value for his autograph.
Also, growing pressure at Angaston for Matthew Doecke to step aside as Captain and Jarred Rathjen to
ascend to the throne, has the full support of the players who feel it is Rabbit's time.
There are already comparisons of him to Brett Kirk from Sydney....the clock is ticking Matthew.

Tanunda vs Willaston should be a cracker, last side to beat Tanunda at home was Barrossa in 07. Wells show his class against Jones :)

Barossa District vs South Gawler. Barossa just by 2 goals. Barossa are getting weaker each week.

Kapunda vs Freeling . This will be a close one. Kapunda will get in by 3 goals

Nuriootpa vs Angaston. Nuri will have this one in the bag. 5 goals

Tanunda vs Willaston. The game of the round, Willaston will not have it in them to get over the line and Tanunda will not put up with the Baker Boys bull S**t. Tanunda by 5 goals.
Something to think about

Looking on the Plains league Clearances list there is not Max Doherty on there.
Looking on the BL&G Clearances list show's "denied" from Freeling to Plains league.

So its half true, fairly safe to assume he wont be fronting up for freeling again

Have it on good authority from within Willaston that Johncock will definitely be a Donny this season and it may even be earlier than some have suggested on here.
Could it be a Johncock/Agars match up this week?????
Johncock is definitely ZERO points.
Brown wasnt sacked, he spat the dummy after being dropped to the ressies or as some like to say on here rotated.
I think u will also find they havnt used their 15 points in any game as yet.
Swooper how many seasons was Taylor at tanunda for? im surprised if he had played the 25 games that Tanunda didnt want him[/quote]

I think it was only one season Days, certainly would not be a local and nor should he be considered one. Tanunda do not have any points anyway so I don't think he could be recruited, great lad but he does have some baggage with him on game days.

I do find it quite amusing now that the attention is on Willastons recruiting, seem to remember some of the Willaston boys and others giving me a hard time on here over the past few years. Anyway I won't give you any crap about recruiting as it would make me look a little hypercritical, something to think about to all who criticise but then turn around and do the same thing a few seasons later.

On Max Doherty issue, after denied on BLG clearance site(1/6/11) there is another approach on 2/6/11 that states pending; looks like he's persistent- and gone from Freeling.

Not that I've had much luck tipping lately - has anyone - but here goes:
Barossa to beat South - only because it's at the hillside.
Nuri over Angaston - Panthers don't have depth at moment to cover losses, but close
Kapunda to beat Freeling - Weakened Bombers Should've beaten Centrals last week. Freeling seem a bitunsteady with some players - 3or 4 goals.
Willaston over Tanunda - think Donnies might get the right rotation this week; close game.

Who knows though?
