Disapointing for the donnies had big hopes for themselves this year. At least they have improved on last years grand final effort to atleast be a positive out of it all if any. Tanunda had its doubters this year, and have just may have given those doubters a slap in the face.

Can't see anyone knocking off the Germans again this year. Willaston's mighty $pend seems to have got them no where and when their locals kick up a fuss, all hell will break loose. Tanunda V Barossa in the Big Dance for mine

They have raided a few clubs of their star players with their inflated payments does it look like this recruiting ploy is paying off ?

Was at the Dog Track for the first half - Horsnell's certainly going to make a mark in the comp. Stocky unit and a big kick.
Greenwood's goal at half time was pretty good. About 40 metres in the wet - distance was never going to be a worry.
Certainly a lot bigger than when I last played with him - put on a lot of upper body muscle. His hands under a pack are as good as ever.

Horsnell may make a mark in the biceps competition but from where I was standing he was given an absolute bath by Jake 'the blanket' Asher. He could have counted his possessions on 1 hand and still have a finger or two spare!

Was at the game as well, Asher was very good but wouldn't say brillaint. The delivery to Horsnell was poor kicking high where Howard was making it a two on on everytime. Saying that, I saw that the Tigers are still argiung amongst themselves and umpires. Good to see nothing has changed with a new coach!

Would that be the same Howard that was off the ground from halfway through the second quarter due to cheap shot from the Freeling ruckman?

That reminds me, why was Greenwood stretchered off?

Be interested to know how the star recruits went on Saturday? Was anyone at the game that could give us an insight?

Only time will tell, they have a very talented side that just has to gel to make the most of it. Tanunda will be a force always, have a side that has played together now for so long just like geelong. Fellow sides wont just knock them off by buying a team, but Willaston, Barossa and maybe Nuri will be the sides to atleast give Tanunda a good run come saturdays. Willaston will improve next time around, just have to be ready to play come next time.

From all reports i got, they were just simply really poor on saturday and thats about it. wont win the big games if they repeat that performance. Know Coach irving will fire into the boys this week on the track and have them primed for the big showdown with South Gawler and Scotty lee, Wouldnt want to be 0-2

Big game that one - a lot expected of both teams and will be wanting to show something after underwhelming first up performances.

Look forward to seeing the return of former premiership hero Boh Byster for the panthers this week. Will provide a real target up forward or down back.

What started out a maybe a close season is now a 2 horse race between Tanunda and Barossa.

This weeks tips

Bar v Angaston-watched Barossa last week and very impressed. Will be missing Angus again with a hammy but will be to good for Angaston.Don't write off Ango - 4 goals to Barossa

Freeling v Tanunda- Tanunda great team and will win be plenty 10 goals plus

Kap v GC- Kapunda disappointing last week but will bounce back and win by 6 goals

Will v South Willaston look great on paper but too many egos on the field to gel as a team.South while beaten last week had a real go and will make it a dark day for Willaston and win by 4 goals.

Bar v Ango. - Barossa to win but in a close one. With injuries to Spencer and Angus it puts alot of pressure back on Commane for the dogs to kick a score. Barossa by 15 pts

Free v Tan. Tan by 10+ Goals. From all reports Tanunda were simply awsome last week against Willaston.

Kap v GC. Hard to pick a winner here i think both teams may struggle this season. Both sides coming of losses but ill go GC in another close one.

Will v South. Willaston to win the local derby only due to the fact it's played at Willaston. Match of the round still even after both sides poor start to the season. Both sides will be keen to have a win next to there name.

I have also been told that the comp has lost a couple of key players for long periods of time can anyone confirm? Spencer & Walton? Or is this simply rumours?

Tanunda v Freeling - Freeling showed that they will be around the mark this year last week, but Tanunda are still the champion team. Boxheads by 5 goals.
Kapunda v Gawler Central - Both sides will be disappointed with their games last week, Kapunda to rebound better. Bombers by 3 goals.
Barossa v Angaston - First time we will ses the Panthers in 2012, but Barossa are building to win a premiership. Doggies by 8 goals.
Willaston v South Gawler - The Donnybrooks need to get over their individual egos and play as a team, Lions will get close, but Willaston to prevail in last quarter scramble. Donnys by 2 goals.

RR you could be onto something with Walton-made some calls this arvo and he injured his knee in a intense session on Tuesday night with coach Irving laying down the law to several players for there intensity and commitement at the ball against Tanunda.
Believe Cole and coach had words on Saturday and Mills may have done a injury also on Tuesday night.
Walton may be in doubt for several weeks depending on how he pulled up on Wednesday or off to a specialist.
Would be huge blow to Donnies if Walton is out for an extended period.
Wish him well as he is a great lad.

How did Freeling show that?? They defeated what many are predicting to be the bottom team by just 2 goals
