Most sides would be very close in Div 1.
Stop wasting our time with your brown coloured dribble....

Do you reckon this guy is actually the Lego guy from Ango? :D

Kilburn last year in div 4 beat 2011 grand finalists Willaston in a trial.

Wouldn't take too much out of that, fact is every league thinks their's is the best. No doubt that the BLG sits somewhere around div 2 to 1, top sides would compete in div 1 but doubt they would make finals but would dominate div 2 while bottom BLG sides would simply compete in div 2. I base this on div 1 players that have been recruited out here, they all pretty well say the same thing that div 1 is faster and better skilled but not as tough as country football. I would doubt that Tanunda or Barossa would beat the top 2 div 1 sides.

Freeling still going to be around the mark BR84?

Think they should rest up for the return bout with Gawler Central for the Spoon

I think you will find that willaston won the trial by 6 or 7 goals after being down by 5 goals at half time.

I witnessed a very good team game of footy today at willaston. It was willaston's best performance of the year. Baker and Taylor were standouts. On yesterday's performance i would say that the team is turning the corner. Barossa were good in patchers but willastons pressure was excellent.
Kapunda vs south score was a shock, goes to show the comp is pretty close other than Tanunda being the standouts.

Nowhere near div 1. Seriously only Tanunda would make finals in div 2. Rest would be div 3.

I played in it and vaguely recall winning.

Barrossa footy is a great product. I went toa GF a few years ago at Willaston and the atmosphere with footy and netty is sensational and far better than city footy.

Just the standard is not anywhere near div 1. That is not a sledge as div 2 and 3 is good footy.

Not a real shock we havnt won there in 14 years.
Real physical game yesterday, would be a few sore boys today unfortunately 1 terrible quarter of football cost us the match. An all in brawl at 3/4 Time seemed to fire the lads up after a woeful third quarter where we went goal less and allowed Kapunda to open up a 4 goal lead. Good spirit in the last to to hit the front but some poor discipline and a couple of huge bombs by Sam Ryan saw them get up.

Any correlation between this and the departure of Chris McLean?

Kapunda vs south score was a shock, goes to show the comp is pretty close other than Tanunda being the standoutsNot a shock. As Jim said a great game of football - hard, but not spiteful. Melee was a reaction to a bad umpire's call. South have improved greatly, but Kapunda are starting to get important players back in form, and will be dangerous when they play 4 quarters. The way they played in the 3rd quarter should have put South away by lots. Good effort by South to get in front, but Bombers fight back in last 15 minutes better. Both teams will be up there.

Any truth that the U17s match also had a nasty melee after poor umpiring caused some player frustration, Jim ? Can anyone confirm ?...

There was a brawl at halftime of the 17's but it was just handbags at 12 paces stuff. I was very close to the action and it was just a heap of testestorone filled kids having a push and shove. Didnt see any nasty stuff

Maybe,
whatever it is it's good to watch a team playing as one, rather than for themselves.

Dont get me started on the umps, probably the worst display ive seen in 10 years. The older ump was so far away from the play its lucky he saw anything and some of the decisions were bewildering

I heard first hand from a couple of the south players that the incident at 3/4 time was sparked from a ordinary umpires decision but it should of been over before it really kicked off with maybe just a push and shove and both teams should of been of to their huddles until a kapunda player landed an absolute pathetic cheap head butt on one of the south players that sparked it into more than it should of ever been.

Didnt see the incident but have heard that their was a headbutt and squirrel grip dished out by the same player.
The umpires lost control and the fight got quite ugly with even the bench players joining in
