9.1 Financial Indebtedness and Contractual Obligation
A player of an Affiliated League Club to who has no financial indebtedness (applies to
Subscriptions for the players previous season played only) or contractual obligation to
that Club must not and can not be refused a Clearance on any grounds.
The standard SACFL Leagues Playing Contract, in a form approved by the Board
from time to time; will be the only contract recognised in the instance of any appeal
where ‘Contractual Obligation’ is given as the reason for any refusal of a Clearance.
9.4 Currently Registered Player
A player who is yet to play a game for a club in the current season cannot be refused
a clearance, subject to regulation 9.1. Upon playing a game for an Affiliated Football
Club, the player is unable to register with another Affiliated Football Club in that
season unless the player has written consent to do so by both clubs concerned, and
completes appropriate clearance forms.
the above is from the Community FL Regs, do you know what grounds Mallala refused the first clearance Swamp?
its quite obvious they dont want him going to an rival club. i reckon that is all
you can't refuse a player for just any reason. it has to be covered under one of the laws of the game.
think you will find that the APFL has an additional by-law that allows clubs to refuse clearace on the grounds of required player.
(i think SD is wondering about the exact wording of this by-law)
