Did Burgoyne get pushed into the middle in the 2nd half when the Tiges were under seige Jack? I guess that would answer your question Jack. He's def gonna be a handful. How did you see the game MC or SG, sounds like it was a tight tussle for 2 quarters.

Hummocks good again! Even first half but smashed the Tigers in the third quarter. Might have to have a rain check on my medal tip. Barnes through a couple of big fists and got reported by both umps. Gonna be tough to defend the indefensible. Great game to watch though.

Yes pinky Hummocks were good. Thought longies were starting to gain control late in the second
but after the third quarter dust up the tigers got a bit rattled. Hummocks then went back to basics and were first to the ball on almost every occasion and got the ball on the boot when ever they could on the small oval where as the tigers tended to get too cute and over use the handball. Hummocks are a class side and their experience showed but the tigers by no means were disgraced. It's going to be a great year.

Yeah he did, when it was too late I thought. It was pretty obvious even in the first half that we had the majority of the play around the ground, but couldn't finish our work, whereas every time United went forward PB seemed to be on the end of it. Once we started to convert our opportunities, yibbida yibbida... I guess the problem for them, was who would finish their opportunities once PB was no longer there. Robbing Peter to pay Paul so to speak. :)

Playing up forward I found it very frustrating! Hummocks were good and as the Gribbles has said just booted the ball forward at stoppages where as we were quite fumbly with the footy. Maybe its because we haven't played a game for 3 weeks or maybe it was Hummocks' pressure. Probably more likely to be a combination of the two. There is definitely a lot of room for improvement for us, and I would think we will continue to improve over the next couple of weeks. Well done to Hummocks on a good win and I think they will be not far off the mark again.

The Two Wells, Virginia game looks like it was a great shootout. Appears as if it would have been a brilliant high scoring game to watch. All reports from Balak are that Hamley are much improved and looked like they had a good game plan. I think you will find that Balak will be a much better side than they were last year as well.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

If Virgina have 38 scoring shots each week they will be hard to stop especially with Niklaus up there clunking them. Your right he wouldn't have kicked 9 had Humpa played, prob closer to 12 :D

hahaha nice reply swamp......but i spose him getting injured in the second quarter resulted in griff kicking all his goals in the second half last week

I beg to differ jack. Some stats were taken in the game and we were told as players that we went inside fifty 11 times to hummocks 6 times so there was nothing wrong with your goal efficiency . :o You guys were just too good in the last half. Hummocks have a quality mid field with more experience , hence always making the right decision with the footy. longies have plenty of work to do. One of the first things is trying to keep some of my team mates out of the pub on a friday night    Very average form.

Was that in a half SG? Seems very low for Wakefield given its so small. Clubs would be aiming for 50-60 in a match i would presume, what would your teams expectations be then Sam, or like you say, is the issue for the Tigers more about efficiency rather than times inside 50?

Dont know mate, stopping their midfield will go a long way toward stopping Niklaus, but given I've never played full back in my life its unlikley that I will get the job.

Having done stats myself on the odd occasion, I think you'll find that there would have been quite a few missed for both sides, unless you have someone impartial doing it and not trying to watch the game itself. Even for a quarter, those figures quoted are very small.

What to do about the Fri night pub issue???? It's a problem that all football clubs have to deal with at one time or another. I think all you can do is hope that the guys do the right thing for themselves. Some people play very well after a big night on the p!ss, but generally the older you get, the less likely it is that this would work for you (in my experience anyway!). It's not something you can really police very effectively. I guess it's up to each individual to decide what they want out of the season, and if they do play up on a Fri night, they'd better be superstars on Saturday!

While Humpa is a decent full back i wouldn't put him in the top 3. There are certainly better full backs around in this comp that will all struggle with Niklaus this year!

Top 3 full backs

Mark Pym
David/Tim Cawrse
Can't think of a third to be honest. Is Paul Chivell and Jonathon Evans still playing? What about Adrian Mark? If he's still playing then he would be number 1. Humphries would probably come in behind all of these guys.
