Geez get of the blokes back, regardless of what PB getting paid he's good for the league. He's kicked a few bags of goals and i think you will find he will move into the midfield later in the year.If United were winning this subject wouldn't come up.

I would think this is the case with Troy as he has played for Port.

Absolute Gun! Dominating at the minute.
Good for us to have Barnes back this week. 8)

I would assume you're putting Burgoyne in that catagory but its hard to blame him for poor form as he seems to be contributing. I haven't seen too many Tiger games but the names each week in the Barracker seem to be pretty much the same blokes as recent years?

Peter should be playing in the midfield and taking games apart and still kicking 4 or more goals instead he doesn't leave any further than 25 meters from goal . he took a mark around half forward on saturday and went off for the blood rule. Not winning them games at the moment so I would say not worth the money

Hard to say "not worth the money" unless you know how much he is getting. Easy to speculate but i have heard that it is around $500 per game. Turned down bigger offers from other clubs to avoid too much expectation & came to United cos of his Dubby pub mate. Maybe you're being harsh?

I've heard less than this. Also heard more. It's not like United have been saving saving saving then spend big all of a sudden ala Hamley. Either way it is good promotion for the league and gives something to talk about. From what I hear he is creating good atmosphere at games he is playing. Was good at Wakey a few weeks back. I think credit to Tigers for promoting the League.

who cares what he's on, he should be playing a midfeild role, and dominating.

Far from that just what i have observed. Peter is great for the club and a good bloke also, great to see the kids getting autographs from him which is not a problem with him at all.

Another interesting round of plains footy. Premiers Mallala are again the team and remain undefeated after a thrilling one point win over the consistent and experienced Hummocks. After that its very open. Balakava have improved with playing coach Lamond in charge with wins over hamley, longies and upset win over the rams yesterday. Virgina are a good side, but are a bit one dimensional with Niklaus up forward. If you can stop him from kicking a bag, you go a long way to beating Virgina. Its great to see Hamley break their losing drought last week, and are after having the bye this week are probably still celebrating. Hamley will continue to improve with sponga in charge and will suprise a few sides during the rest on the season. Last season grand finalist Two Wells have been unimpressive in there two wins this season and will have to improve if they are to go one better this year. Looking like being a long winter for Longies who won't trouble many sides this season, despite having former power premiership player Peter Burgoyne as there spearhead.

unimpressive? whats that based on? mallala were lucky first game we played the second half without a bench. should have put hummocks away by half time last week with accurate goal kicking and beat a side in balak which has given us trouble in the past years. could easily been 4-1 and since were not have to read ur rubbish post. what club are u associated with mite i ask?

Im talking about the Bgrade depth this year.Watched them against Virginia ,look like the B's had lost alot of players from last year.Virginia beat them easily, they could have had a bad day.

We're talking about whats happened so far. What happens next is up to Two Wells, but you can't say that they "should" be 4 and 1, because they clearly haven't been good enough to date. I agree with you though MH, I think we'll see a big improvment from the Roosters in the coming weeks and they'll definately be around the mark in September, anything less would be baffling considering the talent in that side.

No I don't think there are many at all at United to be honest, but anyone getting over $600 (or $1200 whatever the figure) in country footy is money hungry in my opinion. My point is that you only need one or two players in that category to have an effect on the playing group, especially if their work rate or hunger isn't at the same level as your senior local players. Just my opinion and I'm probably way off the mark.
