Good effort MC, don't mind that side at all. I'm pretty sure Hardiman is playing with the dogs. The next week or so is going to be very interesting given all the automatic suspensions that will be given out to guys making themselves unavailable or whom are injured. There are some big names missing from that team for whatever reason and not due to poor form I wouldnt think. It will make for an interesting round of local matches next week between teams missing some stars.

wait! so allmond has been injured for 3 weeks. thats means he can get suspended?

If he makes himself unavailable for association selection due to injury than yes. Its a pretty clear rule, if you wouldve been picked in the assoc side and you can't play for WHATEVER reason, then your not able to play for your club the following week. You sound surprised MH, the rule has been the same for 3-4 years. Having said that I am not a fan of the rule at all!

Has anyone got the side to post? All I have heard if Leighton to half back, Seccafien on the interchange.

It's a moot point with Lee, if they suspend him it is just absolutely ridiculous (so not surprising), however he would still be 2 or 3 weeks from playing anyway BECAUSE HE IS INJURED.

Cant remember to many players being suspended last year. APFL was not at full strength also. Cant see why you would suspend someone that has a wedding, funeral and or injury all with 100% proof ie doctors note, flight ticket, wedding invitation its a joke! Can someone name some players that got suspended for not playing for APFL last year.

Plenty of discussion about the Association match rules and penalties for players making themselves unavailable. Be interesting to see what the league does next week with suspending players who have made themselves unavailable, if they suspend one player they have to suspend them all. This policy of suspending players for a week is the reason why Association footy is dying and probably the reason why the BL&G and Hills are not playing Association footy anymore. With the competition being so close and with three big matches next saturday the league would be be a bit of a laughing stock if quality players such as Niklaus, Burgoyne and Allmond were watching on the sidelines next Saturday. Be interested to know what the NAFL, NEFL and YPFL stance is on players making themselves unavailable are.

The Plains sqaud looks pretty good for tomorrow's Landmark Cup, the only player a bit stiff not to be in the squad is Mallala Daniel Feeley, very dangerous forward he's taken my boys apart a couple of times!!! Interested to know everyones thoughts on how they think we will go tomorrow.

Hopefully common sense prevails and nobody gets rubbed out. The 23 headin up to Kadina tommorrow is a great team, full of blokes who want to be there and that to me is what its all about. There's no use having a handful of players that aren't interested. These types standout pretty clearly in these sorts of games.

Adelaide Plains Football League wins Landmark Cup at Kadina

Final
Adelaide Plains defeat Northern Areas

3rd place Playoff
North Eastern defeat Yorke Peninsula

Qualifying matches
Adelaide Plains defeat Yorke Peninsula
Northern Areas defeat North Eastern

Best Player Wilkey (Virginia)

Best Under 21 Player Seccafian (Two Wells)

Seeing the Adelaide Plains had a big win, the league might be a bit lenient in suspending the players who made themselves unavailable :)

Mallala (7-0) Benchmark of the competition, sitting 2 games clear in top spot. Last years Premiers are undefeated so far this season and with Mail Medallist Liam Whitwell to come back into the Magpie side should finish Minor Premiers and playoff in their fourth consecutive Grand Final. Will be very hard to beat as Mallala try and make it 3 flags in 4 years.

Balaklava (5-3) After missing last years finals the Peckers have been big improvers so far this season under new playing coach Stuart Lamond. Balaklava are very hard to match up against with their height across the ground. Led Mallala for three quarters last Saturday before being overrun in the last quarter. Balaklava have positioned themselves nicely to play finals and are a chance to finish second and claim the prized double chance.

Two Wells (4-3) Last years Grand Finalist started the season slowly, but have won the last 3 matches to set up a big clash with reigning Premiers Mallala at home on Saturday. New signing of former Port Adelaide Magpies player Alf Steed could be the big difference for Two Wells this season. The Roosters should play finals again this season but must beat the Magpies on Saturday or when they meet again in Round 15 to give themselves the belief that they can beat them in September.

Virginia (4-4) The Rams have been disappointing so far this season. They rely heavilly on full forward Bredan Niklaus. Niklaus has kicked bags of 9,10,8 and 11 in their 4 wins but just a total of 11 goals in their 4 losses. Despite leading the Association goal kicking ladder, when you stop the Rams spearhead you can beat Virginia. Virigina has the talent to play finals this season but must beat teams above them on the ladder in the second half of the season.

Hummocks-Watchman Eagles (4-3) Hummocks started the season on fire winning their first 4 matches, but have dropped their last 3 to side outside the top 4. Came within a point of Premiers Mallala in Round 6, but is to early to write off the experienced Eagles yet. Especially a club which has won 5 Premierships in the last 9 seasons.

Hamley Bridge (1-6) Hamley Bridge have become competitive under former Barossa District coach Rian Nelson. Great to see them break their long losing streak against United in Round 5. Would be disappointed with their big losses to Virginia and Two Wells. The Bombers could snatch a couple more wins in the second half of the season as they build for 2011.

United (1-7) United broke through for their first win on the season in an upset over Hummocks last Saturday after coming within 3 points of Balaklava the week before. Probably to far back to make finals, United will be no easy beats in the remainder of the season and have a chance to shape the Top 4. Especially with Power Premiership player Peter Burgoyne up forward capable of breaking a game appart with a big bag of goals.

Not that it makes too much difference, but we've only played 7, lost the last 3.
