The problem with loosing a game and complaining about one of the umpires is it is seen as sour grapes, so if Two Wells had won the game I reckon there would be some comments about the redhead umpire and his lack of decisions (many of them). But since Two Wells lost that wont be said.

Watching the game I thought the little bloke with the dark hair and whistle was OK.

Nothing wrong with the oval from where I was standing - wish Rooster park was as good. Was a bit surprised to see the patch on the wing but overall the ground looked in sensational nick. If Busch got the call and then made a call to Balaklava at least he did something this week :)

Balaklava too tall (and not getting shorter as the game wore on) for the Rooster's defence and that was the difference in the end. S Lamond was mainly upforward and he proved to be the key taking telling marks at crucial times.

Special on razor cuts at Balak last week, 2 x Lamond and Walker all sporting the polished head.

There is usually a good reason why players consistently use these sort of tactics... they lack in other areas

There's a saying about glass houses and throwing stones Swamp.

What questionable tactics Hazbeen? I would hardly call a tactic something that results in a free. I tactic might be something like a sly punch in a pack or on the blind side of the umpire which doesn't result in a free.

He was scragging all day and gave away a couple of free kicks that I saw for high contact in tackles and bumps, at least 2 that resulted in Balaklava goals, 1 to S.Lamond and the other to the younger McPharlin.

Agree on the Umps, Hodgetts is bad every week, the dark haired fella was better.

And yes the Big Whisky was prettier than ever with the newly shaved dome and the foot long goatee swaying in the breeze. The Lamonds boys have been nude baked bean heads for a while now.

I'm not expecting an honest evaluation of Humpa's defensive tactics from a teammate but I think most who have watched him play would know what i mean.

I not here to defend anyone but in my day if I was standing someone 1 foot taller, about all I would/could do is scragg - and yep, most times it cost frees. McPharlin probably copped a high one because he was the only forward under 8' 35" ....

5 key Roosters to return for a big big game against hummocks.

So the loss Saturday was due to: the playing surface? poor umpiring? 5 key players out? Is it possible for the Roosters to be outplayed by the opposition, just for one week?? Probably time to stop making excuses MH and give credit to the opposition, its not a good image!

coming from the guy that got a love tap and flue to the ground like he got puched.

With Virginia not playing to many games of late, it was interesting a local fellow told me we were in the top 4, thats suprised me because i thought two wells would be in front of us by shit loads. Virginia has been disapointing all year hopefully can get their act together for the second half. A few players to come back from injury should be interesting!

Going by performance two wells the better side at the moment. Hold my judgement till after Mallala game. Side will be better once Graham Rigney comes back, Probably one of the most underated footballers in the league.

You're easily stirred MH, I thought that would get your back up a bit ;) :D Lighten up big man!! You never seem to be beaten by a better team MH thats all, theres always a reason why you loose. Its nice to acknowledge the efforts of your opposition and credit them with the better performance occasionally. Fog Horns summary each week does exactly that.

love ur work :D Na in all honesty I think you guys have been a bit unlucky to date with injuries etc, and to be sitting just out of the 4 on % is promising for the Roosters, definately still a contender

Balaklva hosted Billy Brownless for our VP's Club dinner last night with 240 people at the Town Hall.

A great night out was had by all as Billy recounted stories from his playing days and from the Footy Show then answered questions from the large crowd.

As well as Peckers players and supporters there were reps from HW Eagles, United, Blyth/Snowtown, Clare, Riverton and Mallala with Billy spotlighting his long lost twin Sammy Irish who he said of "we were originally triplets but Sam ate the other one"

The night finished with comedian Ross Gregory and his tales of his wife "Turtle" and his old age and viagra.
