I’ve got a joke for ya all… What do you call a club who writes letters one week to get an opposition player suspended, and then two weeks later asks another opposition player to write a letter to the panel to try and get one of their players off suspension for hitting him? :-q

Interesting article on the back page of the Proddy yesterday where Harry Taylor has officially taken over the A Grade coaching from Mark Brandt at the Eagles. Must admit I wasn't surprised to read this as I understood that Brandt had been living in Melbourne for the majority of this season. Pretty sure it won't change how the Eagles go for the rest of the year but the real bonus for them will be on the bottom line now they don't have to pay so much for a coach!
Balaklva hosted Billy Brownless for our VP's Club dinner last night with 240 people at the Town Hall.

A great night out was had by all as Billy recounted stories from his playing days and from the Footy Show then answered questions from the large crowd.

As well as Peckers players and supporters there were reps from HW Eagles, United, Blyth/Snowtown, Clare, Riverton and Mallala with Billy spotlighting his long lost twin Sammy Irish who he said of "we were originally triplets but Sam ate the other one"

The night finished with comedian Ross Gregory and his tales of his wife "Turtle" and his old age and viagra.
Had him at our club bout 6 weeks back, classic.

oh no - bylaw 5(c) ..... it may be back again .....

or they may use the little known 5(z) which is the "catch all" in case none of the other obscure bylaws don't do the job - I believe it states something like this

"If you have any talent as a footballer we reserve the right to determine when you can play - after all it all about us!!"

Its great that the APFL has 5 players in the Central Zone team, hopefully they can win the South Australian Country Football Championships like the APFL won the Landmark Cup . Very interesting that Mallala don't have any players playing tomorrow especially when they have played off in the last 3 grand finals and are undefeated so far this season. But if the Mallala boys didn't attend the trainings which is suprising considering they were held at Mallala Oval that is fair enough they were not selected. Don't think the Magpies will be too upset about not having anyone in the Central Zone side tomorrow, their blokes can enjoy the week off and get themselves cherry ripe for September.
