If Earl has played A grade football at say Mallalla, and wanted to play at Balak, unless he was a junior at Balak, from what I've read, he would be three points.

Yeah I would think so. But, to add to the confusion though, he might also be 0 points as it was passed at the AGM that all players who weren't registered as an import in the 2010 season to be given 0 point status. So it would depend on the wording of that as you could possibly use that as an argument to get him to 0 points.

No. Not from what I've been told. Jars will still be using his poison lips this season I believe.

only been involved in the APFL for a year but was wondering how come its so hard to go from one club to another within the APFL.
read posts last year about players trying to move around but seemed clubs can decline a transfer without any reason.............true?

The rules do state that a club can deny a transfer within the league, but its only one club that is difficult to get along with. Its only hard if you want to leave Mallala. From experience all other clubs are reasonable to deal with.

Don't you need a plausible reason to deny a clearance? Usually they are financial reasons from what I've heard at other clubs.

Yes, normally you do, but clearances from club to club can still be denied for a reason such as required player. Its a crap rule but it does stop clubs from poaching players

Precisely MC, if a player whom is required gets poached by a neighbouring club then I believe the club from which he is leaving has every right to buy as much time as possible to try and convince the player to stay. We all know that if it was as easy as a player changing his mind due to financial benefits then we would be running a merry-go-round bidding war in our own league. The rule is there to stop this happening. When an agreement can't be met, the tribunal decides the fate of the clearance. Rightly or wrongly I would say that Mallala doesnt have a 'no release rule to other APFL clubs' rather the clearance is either given or held back depending on the circumstances, and if the player that wants to move for no apparent reason, which is very strange and suspicious in itself then each club has a right to hold the clearance back until they are given a reasonable explanation.

The rule is if a player from a club from within the same league wants to play at another club within that league he is worth 3 points, regardless of if he was an import or a local last year.

Sometimes people just want a change of scenery and might be sick of getting treated like shit from the club they were at.

Not aware of one being out yet. Probably 9th of April though at a guess.
