haha 1200 for burgyone, 800 and 700 hundred for two more plus what there paying everyone else. another hamley bridge on the way?

Don't think Burgoyne is returning in 2011. I agree Westy crazy money, but I I still think the clubs can't afford it, which is why United and Virginia are making a mockery of country footy in this league by getting wealthy sponsers the pay the players directly... and they still never seem to learn that it never brings success. It creates a totally inefficient team environment and creates division amongst the playing group. Makes it all the more satisfying when they loose!

Good points there swamp but unlike TW, Malllala and Balaklava who have a very strong junior base coming through this is what they ahve to revert too. Rely on short term gain with money spending coz they dont have the crop of juniors to support the seniors. I do though have no remorse for clubs running out of money though when they do spend. a.k.a hamley bridge

You are kidding yourself surely! Don't these clubs do any homework? Both over rated & it appears overpaid, how much would they be prepared to pay for "very good" players then?

1200 apparently

You'd want to get plenty of the footy for that money! $300 a quarter, $15.00 a minute. That's the stuff doctors and lawyers get paid. Couldn't afford to have too many quiet periods then.
So what price for loyalty, commitment & reliability, or are they only words that are printed in the dictionary?

rumor had it 3 hotels ahd to cover it and he recieved more if he played in the middle

it was brought up with discussion and u took a defensive stance against it. Stating on another forum that u once played for gawler south tells me u wouldnt really be in the know about what virginia are doing with player payments. Yeh it might win a flag even now and then but if ur a local is it worth the pain of the next 3-5 years of having no money once its gone and coping floggings week in week out, id think not.

What was worng with me saying you wouldnt know what ur club pays unless ur the coach or the person putting the money in the envolope? They are the only people that know the amounts being thrown around the club unless like I said or your paid players go around telling everyone

Vouch for that MH. Hamley perfect example, spent a bucket load of loot and played in 3 GF's in a row (only winning 1 mind you), then the money run out and so did the players which left the club in a hole for 4 years. Now the roller coaster starts again. I am certainly not against player payments but I think it has got right out of hand with the amount of money being offered to players that have no real credentials.
