not being stupid here but is any player worth 1200 a game when you finish near bottom??? would'nt it be better spent on 3 or maybe even 4 players @ 300-400 a game? was PB even any good for united????

just been reading this paid player debate with intrest, it makes me laugh how quick people are to judge others and other clubs with out digging in there own back yards. have been involved at a few country clubs in differnt leagues and fairly well in the know at an amatur club with out officially being involved and beleive me all clubs need to pay players to survive a club cannot be successful purely on local unpaid talent i would like any1 to show me one club that has been successful with just local (unpaid) talent in the last 10 years. Its true some imports are worth the money they recieve others are not. Some local players are worth paying more, some (not many) play for the love of the club only. The key to long term suceess is keeping the right imports (club orientated) as well as promoting juniors and investing time and effort in to a junior program. But if u are involved at a club that is at its lowest it is very hard for the club to get out of it. You loose juniors (because the A grade is strugling) you lose sponsorship for the same reason and when trying to recruit players you need to virtually take who you can get for the amount you have. How many players would choose to go and play for a team that is loosing????unless it was financially worth it. So i do feel for the clubs that are stuggling. but i am also quick to defend the clubs that have worked there way out of that situation by "over spending" as some may see it provided that they put steps in place to prevent it happening again.
We need to keep paying players and possibly the prices are over inflated but hey so is the NBA or the IPL what a club spends on player payments will vary but prob not as much as you think.

I'm not going to get into this paying players argument bullshit, the facts are ALL clubs in this league pay players. As long as the clubs aren't spending more than they have it shouldn't be an issue.
