There are many things off limits on Anzac morning but not as many as people think. Some activities, whether business or recreation, that aren't restricted by law will still not occur by choice rather than by force. It's obvious that Anzac Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday on average 2 every 7 years and most local winter sports have been business as usual for many years when this occurs. It's mainly junior sport because that is the age group that normally plays before 12 noon on a Saturday or Sunday.

Too many urban myths out there.

Breathing or urban myths? For me it's about respect for those who fought for the freedom we have today.

Has the league got any grounds with decent lights? A mid week catch up round would be unique!

Kadina have just upgrade their lights significantly.

Could the other teams have played this week, either Wallaroo, Moonta or Kadina have a bye and the other two make up this game before Easter, colts on Wednesday and seniors on Thursday before Easter or even Good Friday?

Kadina and Paskeville do but all these things have been suggested and knocked back by the clubs. We just need to play zone weekend to make up the bye but as I said the SANFL won’t let us. They (SANFL) need to be more flexible in this one off situation. To me it’s called common sense.

As long as the games are played with the focus always coming back to the purpose of Anzac Day I personally don’t have an issue with it no matter what time any game starts.

As a junior I never had the education on the ANZACS like the kids growing up today do. The more this is shared even if it’s through footy the better as it educates everyone.

It kind of contradicts itself. There is this line:

Regular sporting events and junior sport can go ahead as normal. Venues such as golf courses, recreation/basketball/netball centres and fitness centres etc. can open as they would normally do, the restriction does not apply to participation in sport and recreatio

But then the checklist doesn't ask whether the sport is a regular event which is what I would think all community football competitions fall under.

Watched the wallaroo v Eagles game today.
Wallaroo lead all day and looked to have the win in the bag at 3 quarter time.
Eagles never gave in and pinched a one point win.

First game of footy I’ve seen in this league in 4-5 years and it didn’t disappoint.
Gotta love drinking beers at a county footy game.

 In short, what on earth is going on at Ardrossan?!

On paper they should be OK with a few additions to feature after the bye - if the Roos are the bottom team of the league, the YPFL is one strong league in 2021!

Not so sure about that. Lot of 6 foot 2 ordinary Ruckman running around in this competition apart from Sauce. Dave Alloca still running around for Wallaroo in the ones as well. Was a dead set gun in his day, but geez he must be 40 now!

Heading to Clare this morning for u15 Association footy. Looking forward to the day and hopefully their is another Caleb Pouler or Locky Jones amongst them.
Our side looks very good but as always Barossa will be the big test first up. Good luck to everyone

I haven’t heard it yet but would not surprise me if he does. It’s his home club. They are top and only lost 1 game, this would be the icing on the cake.
