Was a good hit out for both sides. Obviously alot of players missing from both sides........Haven's probably got up by 2-3 goals in a low scoring game.
Had plenty of players in the 'B' grade as well which is promising for the club.

Played in the B Grade game. Got the honor of captaining the young team for the day, which even though it was only a trial, it felt good having that role.

That was probably one of the funnest games ive played in a long time. If the boys can keep up the good things and work on the not so good things, we'll have a reasonable year. Looking forward to it.

That may have been the reserves score. I think the second game was 10 goals to 2. Could be wrong? but I did ask someone who rekons he was keeping score.

Big call seeing theyve played 1 trial to a side who lost 9 A graders to Chad Burke out at Glenunga. Interested to hear your thoughts Why?

Because they've recruited well and had already prepared some good youth.

So were any other teams in action over the weekend other than HV, WS and NH?

I wasn't at the NH WS game but hear it was a pretty even contest with Havens just edging it although Woody Souths had a heap out so I wouldn't read too much into it.

I think westies are a good side and I think developing youth is excellent, but I wouldnt say theyve recruited well. If what Ive heard is true, they've recruited players who are good footballers, but what example will they set to the young lads. will the message be.... get the footy, break the lines, dispose effectively, take a cheap shot at who ever is around, !! If the recruits can keep a lid on their tempers they should have a good year.

I Dont know if that was Salisbury West's full strength side but Fitzroy were far from it with 11 A graders THAT HAVE STAYED AT THE CLUB Not all the others that have left. The A's where a mixture of A's and B's. Salisbury West did play well and move the ball well to their credit. Fitzroy just couldnt get their game plan going at all with key players out this game. Good signs with the younger youth coming through though for both sides.

That great to hear, well done the lads at Westies. The new culture could be a real key to success

Still a bit early to say that those days are behind them but I do know Stokesy went with the younger lads last year to move away from the violent reputation the club had earned.

Does anyone know if Rick Woodrow played for them yesterday? Was told he is making a comeback, if his knees hold up he will be a massive asset
