Was a good hit out for both sides. Obviously alot of players missing from both sides........Haven's probably got up by 2-3 goals in a low scoring game.
Had plenty of players in the 'B' grade as well which is promising for the club.

Because they've recruited well and had already prepared some good youth.

I wasn't at the NH WS game but hear it was a pretty even contest with Havens just edging it although Woody Souths had a heap out so I wouldn't read too much into it.

If what Ive heard is true, they've recruited players who are good footballers, but what example will they set to the young lads. will the message be.... get the footy, break the lines, dispose effectively, take a cheap shot at who ever is around, !! If the recruits can keep a lid on their tempers they should have a good year.
i am not assosiated with westies but let me say this, like other clubs i have been assosiated with, reputations of past deeds take along time to get rid of.went their yesterday more to see whats left of the lions but ended up watching westies with a close eye.they were well coached and instructed on the game plan and what they were about rather than the opposition.when the lions were in trouble they got physical but within the rules and the westies of the past would have acted but they didnt.kept their heads and played good footy.ifpeople give these kids a chance they could and should end up changing the perception of the club.
