Good few games out Bedge Oval in the city yesterday.. scoreline doesn’t reflect how competitive the games were - particularly the A/B grade.

Hats off to Smithfield and full respect - they rocked up to C grade with barely a side and battled gallantly against a much stronger side - never waivered, never lost their cool, didn’t get negative just kept plugging away.

B grade, half their side didn’t roll up - so half a side of guys who just played 4qtrs and lost by plenty suited up again.. 3 goals to 2 first qtr.. take out the second where we kicked 8.5 to zip and the game was incredibly tight. Genuine ticker shown, play with heart, passion and pride for each other and the jumper.

In the A grade they were good but not great, then in the 3rd just went ballistic and banged on the goals to take the lead - in the end they didn’t deserve the margin they copped.

Nizzy doing great things as Prez, AJ got blokes keen as coach.. good things coming to Panthers in coming years.

Hey @zedman, how's Chris Dickie been playing? I was with his old man when he rang through after his game on Saturday, seems to be going well?

Kick is taken from the correct position with no chance of play on if it falls short etc

He was close, but not close enough to effect the kick. Not a bad option actually. Like it

Good to hear.

He probably would've only played in them as a 16/17 year old and in his early twenties in the NMFL/CDFA days, he played for Border Districts, Sturt, Riverton and Norwood mainly with a stint at the panthers in between, he was recruited by the Power from Norwood as a 27 year old.

Smithifeld and Eastern Park haven't been pitted much against each other in the ammo days.

They were huge watching them growing up, especially once Smithfield starting getting good from 1988 onwards, they were betting smashed on a regular basis prior to that, watching the McAdams was special.

Is the score right at Lockleys, 9 goals to 1 in the last quarter and just hang on? If so, massive win for Locks.

Not seniors I know, just want to acknowledge Rosewater's u16.5's, we have played them 3 times this year and every game has been a cracker, their sportsmanship has been first class, no agro and my lad has said they are great kids to chat to when the ball is down the other end of the ground. One of their boys got yellow carded for his 2nd dangerous tackle of the match, apparently they enforce an 1 week club ban for any yellow card. I hope the kid doesn't miss a game for that.

yeah its right..epfc kicked the first 4 goals of the game..after that it was 17 goals to 4 our way but we didnt see the last quarter coming..momentum is nearly impossible to stop in footy and they had loads of it..we lost 3 lads in the last quarter which ruined our structure down back and they pounced..full credit to them for never giving up..nothing seems to come easy for our lads this year..we have to fight for everything..

Kenilworth V Lockleys should be a good game this week with some quality in form players running around.

Definitely a few B grade games and can even remember when he made to come back from injury through the C's. Outrageous scenes.

Always runs amok against us, very courageous and a real leader of his club. Probably my most admired player from another club.

Well done Pag!
