Just once I'd like to hear yeah we lost. Every single trial game they had 63 out injured and 47 still playing cricket.

Alright, now that the 2016 season is almost upon us, it's time for my rough crack at a ladder, give or take a little.

West Croydon - Been around the mark for the last couple of years, however have fallen at the final hurdle. Whilst Wiles is a significant loss, they have added & should be well & truly pushing for top.
Woodville South - Struggled in div 5 last year, but have always had a tendency to bounce back from going down. Have a few ins, but no great idea of the quality.
Brahma Lodge - A lot of talk of returning players, but on the other hand they're coming from a long way back based on last years side. Should improve to be around the finals action
Ingle Farm - Have improved on depth & added some potency. Were a solid side early last year, until injury hit & a lack of depth was exposed.
Trinity OS - been very quiet on here, but have definitely been doing a bit of work. They definitely have some depth & have Spurr returning. Zedman proved last year that if you get a solid group of players on the same page they can go up in a hurry.
Mitchell Park - After recruiting half of the Southern league, they will be around the mark pushing for finals.
Mawson Lakes - A solid group, but lacking some fire power, still relying on too few to get consistent wins against the top teams
Adelaide Lutheran - Have lost some quality, will pick up a few, but I think the outs will hurt them more.
Houghton - Have heard of a few outs & not a lot of ins. If they can keep RS out of the A's they'll probably be better than 9th.
Fitzroy - Unfortunately heard a lot of negativity with players vs coach vs board. Have heard quality out & quantity.

Not a bad summary. I think it'll be an improved standard this year - all the sides have added some firepower to their lineups. Although Brahma may have struggled last season, the players they've added I think will have an immediate impact.

Trinity is an interesting one, think they limped into finals last year, and to be honest I thought they only got there because there was a reasonable gap between the top 5 and bottom 5.. with those outside sides (BL, IF, ML) looking stronger, and Mitchell Park as you mentioned recruiting half the SFL, I think they may be in for a tougher season.

Don't underestimate Fitzroy.. similar to Ingle Farm last season, they have a lot of kids running around, and have still picked up a couple - although they've lost arguably their 3x best players from last season.

I'll put the heat on - if Ingle Farm don't make the 5, it'll be marked a FAIL for season 2016..

I would say not making the 5 is a fail for every club

Bottom MBK? Geez hope not!!

I think our ins Zartan would be just as good if not better than those 3 outs.

Perhaps.. but not always I don't think - if asked this time last season, I would've said Ingle Farm were no chance to play finals, and finishing out of relegation zone would be the major aim.. had a young inexperienced group, had a lot of players retire or leave for various reasons.

This year, they've recruited quite well. filled some voids, realistic targets have changed..

Not terrible either. Internal trial was very encouraging.
Bit better than Harry49 Agrade cricket side training efforts on the track ;)

Please note this is the MBK guess based on pure SAfooty speculation!

I'll happily be proven wrong!

Agreed its going to be a pretty even comp this year.. Think Woody South are looming as a genuine flag chance, along with West Croydon.. Ingle Farm, Brahma Lodge big improvers from last year makes that log jam from 3rd to 7th an interesting one.. Don't know much about Houghton but if they go as well on field as they do in here they will be prominent. Mitchell Park will be looking to solidify and seem to be adding depth. Luthies appear to have lost a couple but will always be competitive. Cant speak for Mawsons but they showed at times last year they can match it on the day with their style.. Fitzroy lost some top end talent but new coach will bring new optimism and they will be hopeful of juniors developing and remaining in the 5.

Bring on round 1
