Shellacking.

Hahndorf 26.14 def Plympton 2.2

WOW would never have thought plympton wld get their pants pulled dwn by that much.
I guess 20/20 trial matches were nothing more than a kick and giggle. As you can see Hills Central is a cut above div5 amateurs. Might have been a trial but getting smashed by that much wldnt be the best thing to happen this close to round 1. Maybe I shouldn't say much more wub will think I'm putting the boot into plympton.

Big ask for Plympton though. The top teams in Hills Central would be top of the range Div 2 Amateurs though. Think the 20-20 comp was Mickey Mouse thing to try some kids but with the season only a couple of weeks away looks like Hanhdorf brought out the Big guns.

adel lutheran lost to kenilworth in their trial game last night at the old south adelaide ground under lights. nothing to worry about too soon but was disappoting to only play 3 qtrs of reasonably good football. we lost a lot of games last year due to not playing 4 qtrs of football. possible knee injury again to caleb hoklas in the first qtr could end his season. i like kenilworths style of play tho switched the ball well fell down across half as so did we.plenty to work on. not sure how other trials have been played but we fielded a 28 man team. way too many for any game. 24 max is sufficent. i no its a trial game and you need to get to have a look at alot of new players but by having that many makes it difficult for the players to get into the game. any thoughts?

Plympton coaching staff need their friggin heads read!!!
Each saturday all footballers go out and play this great game and the division they represent is a fairly good indication of the footballer you are and that is absolutely fine. There are great divvy 5 footballers who play really well in divvy 5, but for Plympton Management to organise a match against a Hills Central Divison side so close to round 1 is plain stupid. If it were me getting smashed by blokes my own age I would feel like a dud! And I think Plympton are a good side! Note to all D5 clubs... Steer clear of the Big Boys... its a confidence smashing experience! And Ive heard Hahndorf will be middle of the row this year aswell. Imagine the top half. 24 goals is a drumming.

Guess shows the 20/20 was againts Mt Barkers senior colts

I dont understand why you would organise a trial playing Hahndorf under lights on their home ground? Plympton dont play games under lights do they? Why would you travel all the way out there to play a trial game? The lads would have been much better off trying to organise a match at home or nearby against a div 3,4,5 amateur club. I guess the plympton management felt the boys needed a good flogging..Is there anyone here who can explain the benefits or reason behind that trial game?

As I said a few pages back it's a FACT a div 5 club will not come within 15 goals of a hills club. Nothing against plympton but these hills clubs pay hundreds of dollars for blokes and PFC dnt pay anyone. Also u have ex reserves/league players playing against amateur footballers. Calderbank obviously thought plympton were better than they showed. I guess he now knows the gulf between hills central and div 5 amateurs

Well either that, or he wanted a real tough game to test them out.
He must have known Hills Central is a fair jump above Div 5.
Also, you'd guess he has contacts in the Hills to get Plympton playing these teams.
I don't know the guy or care at all what Plympton do, but he wouldn't have got much of a look at their forward set ups!

Trinity had a trial v Salisbury West today. We went down by a handful of goals in each game I think. We only had 33 players to play 8 quarters which made it tough. Bloody cricket finals and clipsal. They played a very young team in the first game and had some unbelievable speed. A good balance of young and experienced player in the second game. Some of their young guys can really play. It was a good hit out and we've got a few things to work on early in the season

At least 4 to 5 players out for both clubs...just to give some of you something to say! ;)

Pretty even Senior trial after POS Reserves gave the LFC B/C/U18 squad a little bit of a touch up over the 1st -3 quarters. Still promising signs for the NEW Reserves Coach Rocky "Mr Football" Langdon and "The Saucerer and his apprentices".

Lockleys A grade recruits looked promising but still no real height....plenty of skilful runners, but no NEW Talls, something they definatelly need. Having said that, the Demons will be better than many have predicted. Very interesting to see 4 or 5 favourite sons still coming out to support their old team mates. D5 promises to be a very even comp with this young side capable of causing a few up sets.

I played in the 2's and we thought we just got up in the end??? Seemed like a close game to me :S
A great effort anyway considering we didnt know eachother and half the team was crook :)
Brant Chambers is a girl.

Mark Mickan and his Pussycats need to learn the Heimlich Manouvre.

As I said promising signs for the relative Reserves and C grade coaches...but from where I was sitting - over the 1st - 3 quarters Pultney OS had the upper hand. No sheep stations on it...doesn't really matter, what does matter is 2 weeks away and hopefully the various squads can grow in numbers on the track and become more familiar with each other on and off. A word of advice... don't handball to your feet under pressure...kick the bloody thing and play in front! Not aimed at you just most of your team mates. Welcome Home and Go Deez!

luckily i used the word posssible knee injury...5mins prior to the first qtr ending caleb was walking off towards the bench and as i came on i saw tears in his eyes. at half time we all went to in he was getting his knee checked by the physio and the club and it didnt look good. saw him today and he said he pulled a ham string. luckily only a hammy.

yeah didnt do too badly catch only played a half gave opportunities for others. big leadership change this year. mark mcfarlene still captained vices are matt koenig and adam hollamby who are really enjoying the opportuinity. hope to see you out at watching mate.

No I am not. That's why I am unsure. All I can say is it's a long season and I am sure everybody will be afforded thetime they need to get there head and body right. It's a marathon not a sprint.

not sure why they need there head read considering its only a trial and a score board isnt important. JC im assuming needed a trial and hahndorf apliged...
didnt see it so cant comment... apparently hollywood is the master all things football... i personally dont see a problem playing a better side in a trial if it was at least competitive which by the looks of things wasnt.... i know JC gave the boys a pasting after the game... so i was told.. we had several injuries through that game.. one player out for the season, broken eye socket for another guy, broken nose for another guy.
what i find ammusing is that every one is goin on the 20/20 results, which pfc dont really care about... round 1 is what people care bout.. especially at rosewater is the main focus...
so goin by what i wrote maybe it wasnt a good idea

Good news Hocks not done knee again, but hopefully his hammy doesn't play up all season, like last year.
