Score board normally means buggerall in a trial, but i'd say it would have stung the lads. And as for lads copping a spray from coach.... WTF, who's the idiot to assume Div 5 would be competitive with Hill Div 1 and accept the trial. He should cop his fair whack IMO. Bugger about injuries sustained...that's the last thing any side wants.
I would have taken bat a nd ball and went home at half time.

Each saturday all footballers go out and play this great game and the division they represent is a fairly good indication of the footballer you are and that is absolutely fine. There are great divvy 5 footballers who play really well in divvy 5, but for Plympton Management to organise a match against a Hills Central Divison side so close to round 1 is plain stupid. If it were me getting smashed by blokes my own age I would feel like a dud! And I think Plympton are a good side! Note to all D5 clubs... Steer clear of the Big Boys... its a confidence smashing experience! And Ive heard Hahndorf will be middle of the row this year aswell. Imagine the top half. 24 goals is a drumming.

Guess shows the 20/20 was againts Mt Barkers senior colts

not sure why they need there head read considering its only a trial and a score board isnt important. JC im assuming needed a trial and hahndorf apliged...
didnt see it so cant comment... apparently hollywood is the master all things football... i personally dont see a problem playing a better side in a trial if it was at least competitive which by the looks of things wasnt.... i know JC gave the boys a pasting after the game... so i was told.. we had several injuries through that game.. one player out for the season, broken eye socket for another guy, broken nose for another guy.
what i find ammusing is that every one is goin on the 20/20 results, which pfc dont really care about... round 1 is what people care bout.. especially at rosewater is the main focus...
so goin by what i wrote maybe it wasnt a good idea

MLFC would like to thank Rosewater FC for their hospitality and hosting us Friday night. Was a good game of footy played in great spirits. I was very happy our lads were able to remain competitive with them for majority of the match. They're a quality team with a good mixture of pace and size who are well coached and with 4 or 5 still to come back in for Round 1 they will be right up there come September. Flying under the radar nicely on this thread, I'll tip them to finish top 3.

Actually WUB I have played in a better comp than div5(plympton), div 6(Mitchell park) that you have played. Considering you are a plympton boy through and through and can't seem to know that a league with a heap of ex league and reserve players and coin coming out of every man and his dog up in the hills they wld give plympton an absolute shellacking. Maybe the air in pt Augusta has made u light headed cos u obviously thought u were a chance.

Not flying under any radar at all, they played finals football last year and are rated a very good side by Hope Valley. They are well coached and do have some good players running around and allways hard to beat down at Rosewater. Agree with you I think they will be in the top 3/4, no problems.

who?

Your captain aren't you? Don't you no.?

No I am not. That's why I am unsure. All I can say is it's a long season and I am sure everybody will be afforded thetime they need to get there head and body right. It's a marathon not a sprint.

Where you the captain last year? The player is Brett Vanderlans, told Painy last week he lost interest in playing. Never no he could changed his mind again as he has before.

Means not many people on here from Rosewater or a lot people have not voted yet. Don't want to waste vote until see all clubs gains / losses very close to the season. The only vote I have done is for your blokes in d7! would have to be shorter odds than Black Caviar in the William Reid Stakes this Friday at Moonee Valley :)

You take a lot of interest in the Mawson Lakes Masters team DJ? I'd be more worried about your mob. Uncle Charlie has been there a fair time DJ, and another year of mediocrity might see things change for perhaps the better or worst at Demon Land. I for one hope old Uncle Charlie delivers but there is no guarantees in this game.

=)) Yep your in the know mate!

For the record, charlie came to the club in 2007 with a kuarna eagles stuff up in between us and d7 that season. We had just 2 senior sides then and the club could have gone anywhere. He has since taken us to D5 and built a core group of players, supporters and coaching staff to the club and with our numbers on the track this pre-season could have almost fielded a d grade side but chose not too on the basis of limited coverage in the event of injury. IF this is charlies last season at hope valley, he will leave the club in a VERY stable state and will leave with hope valleys best wishes.

The D5 comp this year is going to be bloody tough and 2 sides have to go to D6 unfortunately. Im confident with the pre-season the boys have put in that we wont be one of them but only time will tell. I agree we were mediocre in 09 but with a full strength side last year we would have made finals.

Jugs thanks for your concern,by the way which nephew are you ;) I know that 2011 is a very important year for Hope Valley and we will be striving to play finals footy. As for worrying about me Jugs don't,cos i am very comfortable where i sit.Given 5 years to coach our club(which in saafl is very rare)and at the end of the day if we aren't good enough then i will be replaced the same as any other coach would. However there will be a parting that wont be nasty as hope valley have been extremely good to me as i hope i have been for them
